  1. I respect all players that Play with heart and love the game of Baseball , but i think the Player from the past they would play

  2. If you mean yesteryear as pre-free agency then yeah those guys get much more respect from me.  You KNOW they really played for the love of the game because all but the big stars had to get real jobs in the off season to make ends meet.

  3. I respect the players who play hard but probaly more the players of yesterday

  4. I like the players of today but I would have to agree that the players of yesteryear did have a different reason for continuing to play once they mad ethe big leagues but I would have to say that the players of today do have heart and passion when they are coming up or they would not be doing it, as someone who made it through a majority of the minors myself I can say that if you do not have the passion you will not be continuing through the minors!

  5. i respect all that play with heart but i agree that the players of "yesteryear" play with more heart and passion. however, one thing i think is great from some modern players is the way they get pumped up and show some emotion because it shows that they really care

  6. I respect any player that plays for love of the game and plays as hard as they can every single day they are out there and do not cheat, regardless of the generation. Of course, there were more of these players in the yesteryear. So I guess you could say I respect players from the yesteryear more than today's players. Especially players who use steroids. It's a shame how many people use steroids now.

  7. The older players cared about the game.

Current guys only want to cash the check, playing is a bother for them.

  8. I respect the older players because they never showed up pitchers when they hit a HR, but i respect todays players because their approach to the game is way more serious and proffesional.

  9. just because players get paid a ton of money for doing their job doesnt mean they dont give a s*** about it!! all of them still love the game and have a ton of passion

  10. I would say Paul O Neil. Played with his heart. Did anything to get better.

  11. I respect neither - they are just paid entertainers. I watch them for entertainment. I am old enough not to need role models. And I surely am not going to say that the players of old had more heart and passion. There is no proof that Vance Law gave more effort than Mark Buehrle. You cannot judge these things.
