Who do you talk to about getting Roadside crosses at accidents scenes? My sister-in-law and her husband were killed and we want to put up some crosses.

  1. You pay for the crosses,  and put them up.   It is not the responsibility of city,  county,  or state to memorialize your kinfolk.

There may be regulations concerning placement and size of these memorials,  for the sake of public safety.    Contact the streets or highway department about those.    For instance,  any placed in Texas will be discarded if they are not along the edge of the right of way as they become a hazard to other drivers and maintenance workers who may strike them.

  2. It's up to the municapality in charge of the road (city, county, state).  You have two choices:

    1. Just put it up.  If it's a problem, it may be taken down, but people usually respect such items.

    2. Call the municipality and talk to the highest person you can find.  Work from the top down, because the lower personel doesnt' really have the ability to make these decisions.

    My condolences on you loss.

  3. Either the city planner or the city manager or the department of transportation in your state.

This is not an easy thing to do but if you stay on their butts and get at least 75 percent of the surrounding people to sign a petition for this it will help you out.
