  1. I agree with your rankings entirely. I have GSP at 4, however I think a win over Fitch would move him above Penn. SIlva has been so destructive lately I find it hard for Fedor's recent win to catapult him to number one. However, I do think Fedor's recent destruction of Sylvia highlights that Fedor never went anywhere. Sure he faced crappier opps because it was easy, but he is still the best heavyweight of all time. I think if Fedor can destroy Arlovski in October, as much as I love Silva I have to put him number one.

Okami is a good fight for Silva. He'll win, but it's a decent opp. For any real challenge the UFC will either have to merge the WEC 185'ers with the UFC and have him fight Filho, or if Palhares can keep winning I think thatd be a good fight too. Aside from that I think his only other challenges are at light heavyweight

  2. GSP

records don't count for all that much. Fedor might have ruled the heavyweight division, but is the heavyweight division that good?

On the qualities of a good fighter i say GSP is the best.

  3. according to yahoo its anderson silva. But i think it's george st. pierre.

  4. Fedor.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a TUF gnub.

  5. Clearly Fedor.  You can't fault someone for beating down every bit of competition out there for the last 7 years.

I give #2 to the new and improved BJ.  This is of course my bias opinion, as BJ is a homegrown, local boy.  But seriously, I think you have to give him credit as he destroyed Stevenson, Pulver and even the Muscleshark, when no one thought it was possible.

Silva definitely has a case, but again, Fedor is an animal!  If Silva can overrun the LHW division, then I would have to give him the nod, but until then...NO CAN!

  6. I give it to B.J. Penn. He's fought in pretty much every weight class, and done well. He's also held belts in 2 diffrent weight classes. Fedor is number 2, Sliva number 3, with GSP coming in a 4. (From my point of view. There are people out there that actually think that Faber is the best P4P. I'd put him at the low part of my personal top 10)

  7. I think the p4p best fighter is a very stupid claim to make.  Secondly Anderson Silva is just hype created by Dana White to promote his organization.

Anderson Siva is 22-4 and one of the best fighters in the world.  But he has been beat 4 times.

Fedor is 29-1-1 and has yet to be legitimately beaten.  On top of that he has easily whooped fighters who out weigh him by a hundred pounds therefore opponents' weight does not seem to even influence the results of his fights.

And Bas Rutten a more neutral mma expert has Fedor ranked as the best p4p fighter in the world.

  8. Fedor is number 1. hes "undefeated" but because of that c**p loss he has a blemish on his record. Who has SIlva beaten? Hendo thats all. Franklin built himself up by beating people not as good. What was SIlva's record in Pride? 3-2

Eventually the Dana White Hype Machine will go up against someone worth while and lose.

  9. Other than Tim Sylvia, Fedor hasnt fought a legitimate heavyweight since 2005.

Fedor is clearly the best heavyweight, but I don't think he's the best overall.

For my money, it's got to be GSP or Anderson Silva.  People are saying Henderson is Silva's only quality win.  That's a bunch of BS.  Rich Franklin is still one of the top 5 middleweights in the world and Silva just destroyed him.  He's destroyed everyone he's faced.  Sure he had a bad 20 seconds against Lutter but that's it.

GSP has beaten Matt Hughes twice, BJ Penn, Karo Paryisan, Frank Trigg and Sean Sherk.

He only has two losses, one to Matt Hughes, in a fight he was winning on the cards and got submitted, and one to Matt Serra where he was caught and KO'd.

Fedor was cut badly by middleweight Matt Lindland, and Lindland pick him up to slam him twice, and both times, Fedor grabbed the top rope (cheat) to prevent the damage.  He eventually got Lindland's arm and submitted him, but he was otherwise being dominated by a 185 lb. fighter.

Fedor has never fought in a cage, and it's alot harder to fight in a cage.

Fedor's decision wins over Crocop are somewhat controversial.

I will say, that Fedor looked awesome and impressive in his last fight, but that doesnt make him the best.

Urijah Faber and Miguel Torres are also in this conversation.
