  1. Jose Luis Castillo gave him a very tough time, and many people believe that he should have got the decision in their first fight.  He was able to bully him onto the ropes and work Floyd's body- he tested Floyd like no one else has, before or since.

Carlos Hernandez is technically the only fighter to ever knock him down- Floyd's hand was hurting him badly and he touched the canvas with his glove, so it was ruled a knockdown.  The fight was not that close, but Hernandez was game to the end and got at least a few rounds in the fight.

Zab Judah started out fast in their fight, but it was only because Floyd allowed him to.  In the first round, he made Floyd's glove touch the canvas, but the ref didn't rule it a knockdown- it didn't matter anyway because Floyd dominated the fight after the 4th round.  Mayweather said afterwards that Zab is a "front-runner" who uses up all his energy in the first 6 rounds and then can't do anything afterward- he was right.

Oscar De La Hoya fought a pretty good fight against him and to this day, is the only fighter to ever hold Floyd to a split decision (I personally thought that Floyd won the fight hands down, but Oscar is technically the closest to ever beating him when you look at the scorecards).

Out of these 4, I would probably say that Castillo gave him his toughest fight to date.

  2. I believe Castillo gave him his hardest fight but lost. I know people still cant get over it because PBF didn't lose. PBF won the fight period. You can force the fight but if your taking more clean shots, than you lose on points. The same with Sugar and Hagler. Castillo did the right thing and get a rematch. Castillo got mopped.

  3. Definitely Jose Luis Castillo. In their first fight, I thought Castillo had actually won the fought and worst case scenario walked away with a draw. Castillo was also one of few who actually had Mayweather roughed up a little bit and he was constantly in front of Mayweather, giving him all he could handle.

  4. castillo actually was winning rounds agaisnst him in the first fight. he was getting some clean shots on him . but was robbed.

judah gave mayweather problems too in the first half of the fight. but that was it.

  5. Castillo (best fight EVER)

  6. castillo beat mayweather in the first fight, the corrupt refs & judges protect fraud gayweather http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2sZVx05B...
