  1. I'm REX HUNT and your not,on Radio and on Tele, Dennis Cometti , like a cork in the Ocean, he keeps bobbing up, at different channels ,.meaning he is obviously well regarded.

  2. butchy gale, say no more.

  3. They've only commentated AFL on a few occassions, with their "festival of the boot" Grand Final coverage, but it's Roy & HG.

    They are hysterical.

  4. Brian Taylor and James Brayshaw.. them two together on TripleM.. there is nothing funnier.

  5. I can always remember Rex Hunt commentating and I think he did  breath some life into the sport. Especially when it came to Gary(god) Ablett senior. When he took that mark of the year and Rexxy yelled out YABLETT.

    To me his the best.

Denis Cometti was far better then BRUUUCE, I dont think he was Speeciaaal.

  6. Brain Taylor

    James Braysahw

    Garry Lyon

  7. Denis Cometti. I think he is pretty popular across the board.

Surely you were only stirring when you say he is the worst! I actually think Bruce the Goose takes some stacking as being the worst.

  8. Well, on today's performers I just could not tell you ... but let's put it this way, I certainly wasn't alone some 10 years ago when I commented to another sports official that Doug Heywood was probably the best VFL/AFL commentator in the history of the game!

His response was to the effect, he's not only a top commentator but also one of the greatest blokes you could meet.

Funny about that with life's real Top people; isn't it??

  9. Who can forget Denis Cometti's comment when Cousins tore his hamstring - "Ben better go and get some ice"

I must admit I always found Dermott Breretton's comments not only funny but also very insightful - he was the first commentator to predict Sydney to win the flag at about Round 16 in 2005.

I also enjoy Bruce McAveney - he seems to bring excitement even to a boring game.

  10. Well Eddie is definitely the worst I have heard for years and Dennis is centimetre perfect.

  11. Denis Cometti

  12. Doug Heywood and Norman Banks were accurate commentators, as you could sit back and know exactly where the ball was from their  radio descriptions.(R.I.P)

Denis Cometti only knows 'Centre wing" which makes you wonder if you are listening to an AFL match, or a homing pigeon race.

Taylor and Brayshaw bounce off one another, and make for fun listening. Its like bugger the football, where here to have fun, fun, fun.

  13. Gary Lion back in the day, Cometti, Brian Taylor

  14. Denis Cometti for me.
