Who do you think is the best current international fullback in the world?

Question

Latham? Muliaina? Montgomery? Hernandez? MacDonald? Morgan? Someone else?

Any justification of why you have selected your fav fullback is fine by me. I will add my pick at the end and give justification for it then.

I rate Leon MacDonald. He has been a work horse warming the bench for NZ for years and I reckon this is his now. He has a great kicking game and is as safe as houses under the high ball. Big boy too - 100 kgs -  as the last line of defense I would not want anyone else wearing 15. Some may argue that Leon is over shadowed by Mils and Nicky Smith - but . . . I think he is capable of coming in and breaking the line if required - just hasn't had the chance to start so many games or contribute offensively.  If Leon shows his class against Scotland this weekend things could really change. I'm counting on him grasping the chance to fire up.

For me it's Latham: massive long punt, pace, defensive positioning, timing on attack...just wish he was in our team!

As a Springbok supporter, I would like to say Montgomery, but the truth is we have a few better than sir Percival at home at the moment. He is chosen because of his vast experience and could be seen as above average.

I would have to go with Latham. A line breaker, safe under a high ball and better than fair boot.

I don't know who is the best, but I would absolutely go with Muliaiina if I had to pick one for my team.  All the Latham supporters are raving about his line breaking and kicking... not one mentions his tackling because it SUCKS!  

I'd rate Muliaina's skill as equal with Latham on offense although they are different styles.  Latham probably has him under high balls but defensively it isn't even a competition.  I am convinced I could step my way passed Latham, and I only have one ACL right now... I'd use the Maori side step if you are interested :)

Latham is out and out the best fullback in rugby at the moment but montgomery is far behind. latham has the best ability to break the line and his support play is outstanding. he also has one of, if not the biggest boot in the game

Chris Latham, but I am a biased Aussie and he has been my fav player for years.
