Chad Cornes, not only is he a great defender but he can be used in any position and be great at it. There is not another player that can do what he does. When he's on fire NO ONE can stop him.

I'd say someone from Carlton but then I'd be lying to you coz they're c**p!  For longevity you can't go past Dustin Fletcher.  I'll tell you the worst defenders though.... FREMANTLE!   They can't defend an 8 and a half goal lead!!

The Cats have both of them - but one of them has an injured foot.  Scarlett has proven himself time and time again the equal of Silvagni and has a very similar style - makes the forwards think because he's so dangerous generating attack.

Matt Egan is the best smothering defender by a long way.

Yep there are other very good defenders but those two are the real reason for the turn around at Catland.

Shaw avg 25.7 dis per game. Also avg 9.3 marks per game in 2008.
