10 ANSWERS

  1. Camilo Villegas

  2. Adam Scott he is an upcoming star...and Charles Howell III

  3. camilo or aaron baddely,

  4. Lorena Ochoa (even counting Sergio)!

  5. Howell III

  6. JONATHAN BYRD!!!! even though he turns 30 on Jan. 27th.  But he is the best golfer under the age of 30.  To prove he is better than Charles Howell III, Jonathan has had 3 career wins on the PGA Tour, and Charles Howell only has 2.  Jonathan is the only American - born player under the age of thirty that has 3 career wins on the PGA Tour.

  7. Excluding Garcia from your criteria isn't like excluding Tiger Woods from the list of best golfers of any age. For many people, Garcia isn't the best under 30 despite his Open Championship meltdown (during AND afterwards) in 2007. And while Adam Scott hasn't performed in the majors as strongly as most think he's capable, the Aussie has earned his place at the top of this category just as much as El Niño. Justin Rose is creeping up quickly, thanks in large part to his 2007 Order of Merit title and overall consistency.

Charles Howell III "might" be the best in the U.S. but has underachieved in comparison to the expectations many placed on him after winning the 2000 NCAA Championship. He's not in the same league with the aforementioned foreigners. CH3 would service himself better if he could throttle back a bit and stop hitting the ball 100 percent all of the time. Until then, he's in the second tier of twentysomethings along with Trevor Immelman, Lucas Glover and Aaron Baddeley.

I'm all for debate but in the right context. In other words, there are exactly zero golfers in their 20s that have won a major. Picking one from that group is like asking which car you don't want to buy. Until one wins a race, they all kind of look the same.

  8. Charles Howell III

    won the Nissan Open

    3 top 3 finishes

    5 top tens

  9. Adam Scott.  Has by far the most natural talent and has excellent strength and conditioning routines.  He has already won the Players Championship and the Tour Championship, which by most PGA Tour pros are considered the 5th and 6th majors.  At only 27 years old, Adam Scott will definitely become one of golf's superstars and win many majors in the years to come.

  10. Adam Scott and Aaron Baddely are both posed to have huge years. They were something like 9th and 10th on the money list last year and I would expect much better this year.

If Adam Scott can find his putting stroke, don't be surprised to see him win a major in 2008.
