This is super easy.  Lance Berkman is the best player on the team and one of the better all around hitters in the game.  He is a switch hitter on top of it even though most of his power comes from the left side.

I think Lance Berkman has been the best player on the Astros. If you look at his stats...his stats are good enough to win maybe a...MVP?

He's been one of the league's better hitter...he's been hitting the lights out and has been hitting around 400. for a couple a months. He was an All-Star, and a leader in many offensive categories. Berkman has come up big in many situations for the Astros. Without Berkman...the Astros may not be where they are (a potential playoff team).

Lance Berkman, because he's just an incredible hitter.  He has a ton of power, and can hit fairly well from both sides of the plate.

Lance Berkman followed by Carlos Lee, Roy Oswalt, Miguel Tejada, and Hunter Pence.

Berkman is one of the best switch hitters in the game today (along with Chipper) and is putting up some impressive stats this year.

Lance Berkman. He is an all around player. Every time my Cubs play the Astros and he comes up, I get worried he's going to hurt us. I would place him just above Carlos Lee. Look at Berkman's stats. BA of .329, 25 HR, 89 RBI, and is also a pretty good defensive 1st baseman. If it weren't for Pujols, I would go with Berkman for NL MVP.
