For me it's Fernando Redondo. He's technique is too good for a so called defensive midfielder.

Redondo was very good but no where near Keane's Quality.

Defensive Midfielders are not supposed to be too flashy but I would have to say that Danielle DeRossi seems to always be in the right place at the right time and makes big plays.
