  1. Brian Habana, Billy Slater, Joe rockocko,

  2. Takudzwa Ngwenya of the USA left Habana eating his dust

  3. Habanna - Hands down

  4. Habana! I know he's a Springbok and the All Blacks won't like me saying it, but he is without a doubt, the fastest in union. He's one of my favourite's too (who's not in the all blacks of course).

  5. Flyin' Bryan Habana!

  6. BRYAN HABANA!!!!! he can run as fast as a cheetah!

  7. Your all wrong!!!! dwyne chambers was an olympic sprinter but failed a drugs test, he played for Castelford on trial coz of his pace but he was awful, habana is quick as is rococko the quickest player is the African born American winger that smoked habana in the pool stages of the world cup, he plays his club rugby in france and is called something like Nguayna.

  8. Shane Williams, he side steped habana loads of times, haha :P

    CYMRU AM BYTH :D

  9. the south african - brian habana!!

    absolutly rapid!

not just quick but a powerful runner as well.

  10. There a pommy guy who runs sub 10's for 100 metres. Dwain Chambers is his name. He is the quickest although he is a league player.

  11. Habanas close, but that other Springbok Winger,?

  12. habana is the fastest as far as i know of

  13. brian habana

    lightning pace

  14. i believe its three africans; two zimbabweans and one south african

    brian habana (south african)

tonderai chavanga (zimbabwean born south african on the south africa squad)

takudzwa ngwenya (zimbabwean born player on the US eagles squad.)

takudzwa ngwenya DID NOT burn habana. not only did he have a head start, but he sidestepped him and caused him to lose a step. it was an evasive rugby manouver, not a footrace. only an idiot would categorise such a thing as tantamount to a footrace.

before you say im defending habana, im a proud zimbo.

  15. Habana

I saw him score a runaway try at Bruce Stadium against the Brumbies.  He took off and the rest just watched.

  16. No one can remember Cau Cau! thats just sad...

  17. Very broad question. There's loads from around the world you can throw into the mix.

Paul Sampson (ex-Wasps and England) was a professional sprinter and converted that into being an excellent Rugby player. Rumoured to be a 10.3 100m runner.

Nigel Walker (Cardiff and Wales) got to an Olympic 110m hurdles final in 1988. Pretty rapid.

Brian Habana (Bulls and SA) Widely regarded as the quickest man in Rugby at the minute. He is quick, but there's lot's of competition.

Takudzwa Ngwenya (Biarritz and USA) Rumoured to have run 10.25 for the 100m, he skinned Habana at the last world cup.

Joe Rokocoko (Auckland & NZ) Allegedly ran the 100m in 10.17 in training. Generally a rapid fella. Loads of other Kiwi's have been rumoured to run a 100m in the mid 10 seconds. Rico Gear, Soseni Anesi, Doug Howlett and Sevens player Zar Lawrence.

Shane Williams (Ospreys and Wales) Maybe not a 100m runner, but widely regarded as the fastest man in rugby over the first 20-30 metres.

Tom Varndell, Mathew Tait and Paul Sackey are considered some of the fastest in the English game.

I could list a lot more, but I think if there was race to find the quickest rugby player over 100m, i think the winner would come from one of the above.
