  1. Sorry, i don't really know, you should have really used a desciption .

  2. Easily Warren Tredrea.

You have to be rated, to be over-rated though, does anyone rate Tredrea? :S

  3. ok overrated too much, though a good player, gary ablett

underrated is jarred mcveigh form sydney.

  4. David Nietz undoubtedly..

Tarrent - I mustve missed his great form..

Crawford - More personality than footy skills..

Farmer - You cant be a part/time great player..

Kerr - To think he was hair away from a Brownlow..?

    but ..

Sammy Newman has to take the cake!!

That man acts like hes a legend but I watched some of his games... where, I ask, did he actually play his best footy?

Cos Im yet to see it!

  5. yeah riewoldt without a doubt but with the hindsight of Cousins and Judd leaving then Daniel Kerr isn't looking as good as he used to so maybe give any midfielder the third best tagger and they would be close to brownlow form too.

  6. Sorry but Lloyd should never be in that catagory...I would say for a fair few years that David Neitz should be be that person. I watched him most games he played, absolutely over rated...in his younger years - fine...but he should retire NOW-would be a lot better for Melbourne in the long run.

  7. Tony Lockett

    Gary Ablett Senior

    Warren Tredrea

    Barry Hall

  8. definatley nick reiwoldt.

  9. Riewoldt definetly but closely followed by tredrea, didak and carey. Lloyd is just in bad form at the moment but is not overrated.

  10. Cameron Bruce (does he still wear white boots)

Chris Tarrant (good for nothing trade Bait!)

Shaun McManus (not that any one rates him but still you cant spell McManus without a**s)

Anthony Rocca (only plays when he feels like it)

Robert Harvey at the moment (only gets the ball cos the coaches dont put a man on him)

    Travis Cloke (WTF??)

Barry Hall (He's not that good - stock standard full forward if you ask me... he can mark, kick straight and his size helps him.. thats all you need in a full forward... he'd be useless anywhere else...put him in a boxing ring and he'll get KOd in the first round... that wannabe cheap shot poor excuse for a person!)

  11. Most overrated of current players is without doubt Matthew Scarlett. He is merely a scragger like Silvagni and frequently turns the ball over.

Adam Goodes is also grossly overrated - 2 Brownlows is laughable. Josh Fraser, Cameron Mooney and Nathan Thompson are all nowhere near as good as their reputations.

Lloydy is a champion who is simply past his best - no one rates him now anyway.

Carey and Ablett are clearly the best 2 of modern times, with honourable mentions to Hird, Voss and Judd.

Of past players, Chris Grant was only a solid player at best.

  12. Reiwoldt

    Akermanis

    Tredrea

  13. I too am an Essendon fan and agree that Matty Lloyd is grosely overrated.

I also think that those who say Wayne Carey was the greatest player the game ever saw are overrating him.. his career stats were not too good at Adelaide.

Gary Ablett Senior is another who I think was over-rated. When you weight it all up, he wasn't so good early in his career. Gary Ablett Seniors mark of the century was debatable at the time and still is for the fact that the ball did not appear at all under his control and spilled onto his own body as he dropped to the ground. I have seen better controlled marks often go unpaid! Overrating and the Ablett name go hand in hand, look at the great players at Geelong today, yet who do we hear about most? Ablett Jnr!!!

I think with football today, controversy can often be the reason that players stand out and that should not happen if we are talking about their football game!

  14. (1) Justin Koschitzke, supposed to be the greatest ruckman-CHF of all time at St. Kilda. Kosi has never reached anywhere to be as near the player as Stewart Loewe was as Saints CHF.

    (2) Russell Robertson, up until about 2004 or so, all he could do was leap, trying for the mark of the year, that he dropped most of the time. At least he kicked over 40 goals last year.

    (3) Mark Jackson, he could kick a goal, but he was such a crazy SOB that he wasn't worth it and he moved from team to team (South Fremantle, Richmond, Melbourne, St. Kilda, Geelong).

The answers writing Gaz Sr was overrated???? Gaz Sr didn't really play full forward full time until the 1990's. He kicked over 80 goals in 1985, 1988 and 1989 from half forward flank and the center. Gaz was picked on half forward flank for both the 1989 and 1992 GF. Full forward in both the 1994 and 1995 GF. If Gaz was a full time FF, he may have kicked over 1600 goals.

I just hope those of you who think this way don't have a drug test at school or work after the ANZAC Day holiday weekend.

  15. Alan Didak

  16. I'd say Daniel Wells from North Melbourne.  So much hype for so long, hasn't really done anything in his career yet that has lived up to that hype.

David Nietz, absolute rubbish now.  Worst full-forward in the comp now by a mile.  Melbourne supporters will say he his a gun, but Melbourne are now right up there with the worst team ever.

Josh Fraser from Collingwood, number one draft pick, is nowhere near ruckmen like Dean Cox.  Vice captain but grossly overrated.

I wouldn't say Lloyd is overrated though.  The recent matches where he hasn't scored a goal were the first times in three years that has happened, not the record for someone that's overrated.  Form slump.

  17. Matthew Lloyd.

    Josh Fraser.

    Simon Goodwin.

  18. Matthew LlYodD

  19. Adam Goodes

    Warren Tredrea

    Chris Tarrent

I could easily give u a list of underrated players

  20. Depends.  Here's a couple

AFL - Matthew Lloyd.  Spent more time being rubbed out at the tribunal than playing good football.  As soon as things don't go his way, out come the fists

NRL - Anthony Mundine (although the only person who thought Mundine was brilliant, was Mundine)
