spirits, specifically demons. Possession is not a nice thing, its downright evil. Possession is stealing your body.

Its kind of like this. Your driving down the street and stop at a red light. Someone with a gun pulls open your door and pushes you into the passanger seat. Then drives you all over the place and runs out of gas in the middle of a long stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere. Then he runs off.

Now imagine that happening with your body. Its 10 times more evil than just doing it with a car.

usually demons or what they call elementals are what they call negative energy or possession.

spirit can possess a human in order to channel information.  ghosts are just stuck between worlds and don't have much power or info to do that.  demons can possess the human.

I don't think people get possessed by anything.

If someone dwells on something negative, say like a demon from a movie, then psychologically they may take on the personality of that demon.

It's like hypnotism......people that are easily swayed (hypochondriacs, over zealous religious freaks) can be hypnotized easier than someone who is skeptical by nature.

Did that make sense?

So in my opinion, possession is a psychological manifestation, not a physical one.
