  1. Well i cant comment on guys ive never seen like ray robinson despite over 100 fights because i dont know the level of competion he faced i mean julio ceasar chavez jr is 36-0 and and who has he fought. That being said Miguel cotto last 5 out of 7 fight have been against Ex or current world champs: Torres, Malinaggi, Quintana, Judah, Mosley with Margarito being next a current champ, and guys like Hatton Mayweather, De La Hoya, Williams, Clottey all looking to be next when its said and done i think he'll go down as pound for pound because of his record who was on his record and how he went about it

  2. Rocky Marciano...those boxers back then man...I mean, how do you have over 100 plus fights in your career. That's ridiculous!

  3. the term pound for pound was created because of ray robinson (seriously), 8 time champ over three weight divisions, 108 knockouts, defeated multiple hall of famers, was never knocked out, and stopped only once in 19 defeats, it doesnt get much better than that

  4. every boxing purist knows that sugar ray robinson was the man.

  5. Sugar Ray Robinson --There isn't anyone even close to being as good as he was.  Henry Armstrong would be next - Robinson beat him.  Honorable mention to Harry Greb, Sam Langford

  6. I can't really speak for guys that fought pre-1970, but since then it is Roberto Duran without question. His leap at the end of his prime from 135 to 147 and beat Ray Leonard was the greatest feat of boxing in my lifetime. Then to think that he boxed all the way to Lt. Heavy 15 years after his prime is just sick! I don't think that anyone at any time beats a focused Duran at 135.

  7. Ray Leonard

  8. sugar ray robinson, undefeated welterweight champion ( his only defeat at the time was to middleweight jake la motta, whom he beat 4 or 5 times), only one loss in his first 130 fights, 5 time middleweight champ, beat hall of famers henry armstrong, la motta, rocky graciano, gene fullmer (1 of 4 ), carmen basillio, carl olson, paul pender,

10 of his losses came after he was 40 years old.

he could box, punch hard with either hand, lateral movement, footspeed,  handspeed, ability to take a punch, could counterpunch going backward, often defended his title 6 weeks apart, only the searing heat prevented him from winning the light heavy title as well (even the ref had to be replaced after the 10th round).

  9. I think I would say either sugar ray robinson or roy jones jr. I dont think  Roy Jones was that good of a fighter but he basically dominated all of boxing for years and he has to be considered best pound for pound ever for that.

  10. Ray Robinson.....close seconds to Bob Fitzsimmons, Sam Langford & Harry Greb
