  1. I'd have to say Tim Henman. He had a great serve and volley game that was perfect for grass. He reached the semis there on four occasions, but unfortunately never got much luck in who faced once there.

  2. There's two name appear in my list.  One is Ken Rosewall, the four time runner-up, the other one is Ivan Lendl, twice runner-up.  Both are short of a Wimbledon title for a career slam.  I would give Rosewall a slightly edged due to he's achievement greater than lendl (four finals compare to two)

For women, there's also two name appear in my list.  Monica Seles and Justine Henin.  I will give Henin slightly edged over Seles due to she has a better result between the two.

  3. Ivan Lendl and Monica Seles.

If we're talking about good grass court players rather than those who were good on other surfaces, I'd say Patrick Rafter and maybe Pam Shriver. The women's game has always been less surface specific and clay court gurus Seles, Sanchez, Sabatini and Martinez all made the final, the latter claiming a title.

  4. Tim Henman.

  5. Tim Henman

  6. On the women's side I think it's Justine Henin.

  7. Well even at 27 I'm not old enough to answer this one but I think Monica Seles and Ivan Lendl.

  8. on paper, among modern-day players, yes.

the last calendar grand slam by a man was laver in 1969.

1970 is the year i would consider the start of modern-day tennis. lots of changes started to take place, and the competition started getting a whole lot tougher around this time.

fwiw, agassi is the only man to win any grand slam since 1969. what's more impressive is the he's the only one to have EVER done it on three different surfaces. think of all the great players since 69 who've never won the slam.

reality check: tim henman was never the player Lendl was. he never even made wimbledon finals. Lendl was there twice.

  9. yes.i agree Ivan Lendl and Monica Seles

  10. Dont forget NASTASE!  (yes Rosewall is always there) but Ilie made 2 finals and was a real artist with his raquet.

for the girls Justine Henin I guess but dont forget the superbrats:  Tracy Austin, Andrea Jaeger, Jennifer Capriati who were winning slams aged 14 and 15!

  11. I agree with Lendll

  12. Monica Seles, Justine Henin, Gabriella Sabatini

Most definitely Ivan Lendl......( poor guy, d**n that Pat Cash)

  13. In modern times I would have to say it's Justine and Kim Clister.
