I think France's Sebastien Chabal is going to be one of the stand outs of the Rugby World Cup http://nz.blogs.yahoo.com/maninthestand/23/the-rugby-world-cup-clock-is-ticking Who do you think has the goods to set the competition alight?

Diamid, Matty Burke retired from international rugby a few years ago. He's not in the Australian squad!!!

Cipriani didn't even make the cut for the England squad!!! He won't be going either....

Matty Gits and Tuqiri will be excitng to watch - as long as Lote doesn't hit the bottle and is in bed by 12 ! (his curfew is insane)

Schalk Burger and the Bokke big men for RSA - Mattfeild, Bakkies Botha, Al van der Berg. The big wookies will be keys for RSA. It would be nice to see a bit more of the young fella with the sick kick - Francois Steyn. Like to see Habana have a crack but  he is a known quantity - The Samoans and the Tongans will probably snap him before the quarters.

Seb Chabal - big bad wookie so gracefully ominous. He is a seriously scary man. Not the type of guy to be easily forgotten. Chabal will be more of a fire starter than anyone will know. Ali Williams certainly won't be giving him any lip. I'm picking the French centre - Yannick Jauzion as the stand out for the French, he's a very quick, big wookie center and could really cause some upsets.

New Zealand - hard to say - ship load of fire starters. Conrad Smith - a class act but maybe our best kept secret - bad run of injuries and next to no rugby - certainly not a lot of tests in the last 12 months, and they boy is still in the squad. Why? Because he's better than average mate, better than average. A true specialist center - he may really shock some of the big name centers who know little about him. The thing I love about Smith is his ability to put those around him into space - he's not an explosive mutton head type of center - he's a glider - just seems to lope into space and find gaps which don't seem to be there, he's magic. Nick Evans will spark things up if he gets a run on the wing or at 15 or 10.

Don't say that...Wilkinson is still around and playing pretty well! And anyway, carter is a very different flyhalf

Schalk Burger (sp?) will show himself to be the finest 6 and i've high hopes for a fully-fit o'driscoll

In Addition.....DIAMAND, you numpty! Cipriani isn't (and never would've) been named in the squad, talent though he is, and Spies go removed a few weeks back due to a clot in his lung!

I'd personally go for Sterling Mortlock - (even though I'm a kiwi) - the guy is a class player, as he showed in the Bledisloe and what he did with the All Black centers...

Apart from Sterling I'd go for either Rodney So'oialo or maybe Dan Carter - if he can get on-song..

the question really is of an unknown personal, like Lomu was back in '95, so that in mind, there are but two exponents, Matt Gitteau of Australia and Ice Toeava of the ABs. Habana is just an opportunist mostly with no other x-factor in his arsenal, so the two inside centres are the potential surprise-packages...they are both versatile and skillfully armed, and their class is yet to be materialised especially Ice, so there are the remedies for  the much anticipated sensation...
