I know the NHL doesn't have this award but is there some player out there you feel had an awful 2007-2008 campaign or just had lingering injury problems that will light it up this year?If you can give me reasons why,you would rule!

ALSO-

Who on your favorite team will be that player?

  1. My first thought was Gagne, but I don't want to steal Andrew's thunder.

I think Heatly will get more than 100 points again.

I think Vanek will pick up the pace this year.  He was like a + 50 or something two season ago, and then last season he just blowed...He owes his team a better performance.

If Michael Nylander hangs around and stayed healthy, then I give him a better season, as well.

  2. Alex Tanguay of course cuz hes ganan be playing for habs!!

  3. I would love to see Darren McCarty work his way onto the Wings fulltime roster next year, assuming they sign him to a contract.  Another player it would be nice to see rebound, not that he ever initially bounced in the first place, is Aaron Downey.  The Wings just signed him on for another year and frankly I don't know why.  The guy has never had a year in the NHL that could be called good or productive.  I am hoping he can make me eat my words and put up 30-40 points this year.

Mike: I love Joe, but the dude needs to decide to play before he can have a rebound year.

  4. Simone Gagner will be the comeback player(heatlh pending).  He should mesh with the centermen that the Flyers possess.  Philly was a conference finalist without their top gun.  If he returns to anything near his prior form he will put up some numbers.

As for the Hurricanes, one again depending on health I am going to say one of Gagner's former teamates, Justin Williams.  If Williams can recover from his knee injury he will return to his 30 goals a year form.  The guy is a hard worker who plays in all the important situations.  He is also entering the prime of his career age-wise.

  5. Hmmm, I'm hoping Miroslav Satan will be our comeback player of the Pens AND the NHL, lol.

I mean he wasn't awful last year with the Isles but he surely had a large decline in play. I'm hoping this year with Crosby, Malkin, Staal or whoever lines he's on he can rack the points back up, and go back to scoring 25+ goals......

......But that's just me wildly dreaming.

  6. I'll guess Raycroft finds his confidence again with Colorado.

Reason: just to spite the Leafs fans and he won't have to worry about a McCabe own goal this year.

It's pretty hard to pick just one Islanders player when your leading scorer only had 49 points and you signed a FA defenseman who had more than that.  Can I nominate the whole team? Guess I would have to go with Doug Weight.

  7. Sakic will be back on target.
