i.e. which team will finish higher than most people will expect, or which unfancied team will lead the premiership after the first few months.

For me, I think WBA might surprise a few people, and may finish in the top half.

  1. I think Aston Villa will get closer to 4th then expected.

I also think Middlesborough will have a good season and get into the top 10 and displace someone like West Ham or Newcaste.

I can see Alves grabbing 20+.

I think West Brom made a bad decision with Kevin Phillips but I wouldn't rule out your prediction and in fact I believe they will do enough to stay in the league.

  2. I think it is Spurs

  3. excuse me - dialupistheninetys

I support Stoke City if we do survive more than 1 season then good for us but if we don't at least we tried our hardest

  4. Sorry I cant see West brom finishing top half.

I think Hull might be the surprise package to survive.

I have a feeling Newcastle will struggle this season and the only thing that will save them is the fact that there are indeed worse teams.

I will eat my foot if Stoke FC survive more than 1 season.

  5. Because of the very reasons people think Newcastle will struggle are the reasons why I think they will survive

There is an atmosphere of closing ranks to protect now and I think the c**p off the pitch is the one thing that's going to motivate them

  6. Pompey!

ok so they finishedin the top half and won the fa cup.

this season will be a top 5 and atleast 2 other cups.. uefa and fa!

    play up pompey!!

  7. i think blackburn will do well this season and be a surprise team that will come about 6 or 7

  8. Fulham, but I can't be bothered to explain why. Surely that honesty is worth 10 points?

  9. Hull city come 12th is my surprise guess and also chelsea do terrible and come 5th

  10. I think arsenal will surprise people by getting relegated

  11. I think Villa will have a really good season, they've spent a lot of money on their defence and seem to have kept Barry, up front, Young & Agbonlahor will only get better.

They may be a suprise 4th place for them.

No can't see WBA doing better than the bottom 3, especially without Gera

  12. Fulham and Wigan will be the suprises. Roy Hodgson is a brilliant manager who worked wonders for them to keep them up last season. He has made some really interesting signings too.

Wigan will be very hard to break down and with players like Palacios and Valencia and the strength of Heskey up front will make them a very hard team to beat.

Sunderland have made some good signings too but I think people are expecting them to suprise people so I can't really call them a suprise team!

West Brom have lost key players like Phillips and Gera without replacing them. I cannot see them suprising people I'm afraid.

  13. I think Spurs will do well, much better than the last 10yrs, im not a spurs fan, but they have bought some good players, Modric is amazing!

  14. Portsmouth, since they have Crouch.

  15. Agree with WBA, they have made some good signings also Kitson's goals for Stoke might be enough to get them to maybe 14th/15th and i think Sunderland will surprise a few people and make a top half finish.

  16. with the signings they've made during pre season, i think fulham could finish mid table, and not have their usual battle against relegation
