  1. Carlos Quintana really surprised me by beating Paul Williams the way he did and I give him all the credit in the world for winning that fight when he had everything going against him (height, reach, etc.)  That being said, I really do believe that Williams underestimated Quintana and was looking ahead to bigger things.  I predict that Williams comes into the rematch focused like he did when he beat Antonio Margarito, and avenges his only pro loss to get back his title.  I think that Paul will use his jab and reach much more to keep Quintana at bay, which he didn't do in the first fight (he just let Quintana walk right in).  And, he will throw more combinations in the rematch, because in the first fight, he threw a lot, but no where near how much he usually throws- I think that he'll get back to throwing over 100 punches a round, which was what won him the title against Margarito.  Quintana is a good counter puncher, but when you've got that many punches coming at you, its harder to be as effective as he was in the first fight.  I also think that Paul should go to the body more, because that was how Cotto was able to crush Quintana in their fight.  In the end, I think that Williams will win by either a late round stoppage or a unanimous decision victory.

Edit: I NEVER said that Williams could go to the body like Cotto.  All I said was that it would be better suited for him to go to the body more because Quintana could not hack it when Cotto went to his body and I remember a point in the first fight when Williams DID go to the body and Quintana backed off, but Williams never followed through with it.  And Margarito does not just "stand there" and let Williams pick him off- Paul beat him at his own game.  Margarito is a volume puncher and he tried to do that in their fight, but Williams is MORE of a volume puncher when he is focused and that was how he was able to beat Margarito that night.  Margarito was coming forward for all 12 rounds, but the difference was Williams was constantly exceeding him in punch output- for every shot Margarito landed, Paul came back with three or four.  I agree that styles make fights, but I think that a focused Paul Williams has the style to give anybody trouble at 147, and he definately has the style and workrate to beat Carlos Quintana in their rematch.

  2. Williams will get revenge, this time he won't walk to the ring with a smile and he will be more serious about the fight

but then again Carlos Quintana is a very successful boxer and also has a good chance of winning the rematch

  3. I wasnt surprised by the outcome of the first fight. I actually predicted it but this time im going with the Champ and this time thats Quintana. Im a believer of styles make fights and i see Quintana constent movement giving williams to many problems.

The reason williams was able to pick off Margarito was because Margarito stood there and let the long arms of williams pick him off and that is not the case here.

And as far as Williams be able to go to the body like cotto I dont belive its as easy for him because of his stature. Cotto was also able to chase Quintana down and Williams isnt that quick on his feet.  I see it going the distance with split decision going to Carlos Quintana.
