  1. Well, All blacks hv a very good chance but we hv to take other considerations to account. France is the second best side in the world (3rd in terms of rankings but they hv been in # 2 for a long time and this dip is temporary on all counts) and on home ground they can easily turn the tables on NZL.

Aussies on the other hand will find the going tough to the top 4 but they are most certain to reach there (they are the current  #2 in the world but in a long drawn tournament this is merely a statistic). The chances of them beating France or NZL on the day is not considerable though and I would not rate them to win the WC this time too.

It would be very interesting to see who will be the fourth party at the semi's. My money goes to northern hemisphere as springboks are just not there when it comes to final shove.  But I would not dare mention a name .. not yet.

If you want me to place my bets now - my heart says NZ but my head says France. :D

  2. Nueva Zelanda (All Blacks) But I hope Argentina! This`s my dream!

  3. no doubt kiwis the all blacks  . but for others sake i am saying romania  lol

  4. i hear ya 'jenna' i love the all blacks, always have and always will and i would want nothing more than for the all blacks to win the world cup this year...however there is always south africa and france who also have a pretty darn good shot at the title too and lets not forget australia.............

  5. good analysis by thatnice guy.    the all blacks are not necessarily choke artists.  in 2003 they just weren't the best team.  They were the best team playing against teams not at their level, but they lost to Australia in a highly contested match, It's unlikely they would have been able to defeat England even if they made it to the finals.  This year they probably are the best team, but the springbooks and aussies have proven that they are capable of beating the all blacks.  "The French in France", anyone who follows international sports will know that it means championship potential, no matter what sport it is.  Now in rugby, France is already a top four team( although ranked number 2 or 3, they are the best team outside of the trinations, but are not better than those three).  If this cup was played anywhere outside of the borders of France I would say the cup would probably be won by NZ, or alternatively sa or aus.  I'm not a French Fan, but I must say they will win it.

  6. my heart says wales but looks like uv got this one in the bag! Hope the wallabies or south africa will push u close to make it a bit more interesting but they just havnt got the depth of u guys.

  7. All blacks, but I really hope Argentina makes a great world cup, we have players and the skill

  8. The Wallabies are gonna win it for sure.  No doubt about it.

  9. The All Blacks of course, though I reckon Australia and South Africa will give us a run for our money

  10. probly the all blacks, then the wallabies , maybe france or the springboks n argentina as a longshot

  11. lol the wallabies.....

    all blacks all the way

  12. The current favourites are New Zealand.

However, I wouldn't rule out France and South Africa.

As for the Wallabies, it will be a dismal campaign.  Knuckles still thinks he's got John Eales, Matt Cockbain, David Wilson and Michael Foley in the team and he's coaching like it.

The backs are flat and that is why we got picked off twice by Wales.  We were so lucky to get out of gaol with that game.

  13. iam gonna go with my heart and say the sprringboks

  14. the ALL BLACKS hopefully thats wat i want with weepu out and andy in we hav real good half backs and the rest of the back line is awsome. lets just hope greg is cleared

  15. Well admittedly the All Blacks are by far the best team in the world, but the question I ask you is who has been the top side for the last 20 years? The men in black have been one of the best for so long yet they have little to show for it. Sometimes the best team doesn't always win.

A good example is 1995 world cup. Who thought the Bokke would walk away with all the spoils? Certainly playing in their home country helped. But if it was Australia in that final it might have been different. They have a knack for winning those tight important games.

The point is: New Zealand should have won. They didn't. This year again: They must win. Everybody is expecting them win and their fans will not be happy with anything less. They have become famous for choking in the later stages of the tournament. Now imagine this likely scenario for me:

Its the Semifinals. Aus vs New Zealand. The week before the game Aussie coach says they are firm underdogs and New Zealand should win. Now if Australia gets any momentum going the All Blacks might just panic. But suppose they didnt listen to the press and have pushed it to the back of their minds.

Now imagine this: 70th Minute of the game. Its been a tight game. New Zealand, as expected, dominated the game. Score is 9-14 for All Blacks. (The all blacks got a try in the first half) And suddenly somehow an Australian breaks the line and chips the ball over the fullback and it bounces just right. they miss the conversion. 14-14. But suddenly the Aussies come alive and run the ball through a few phases and BANG!!! they score a try and win the game.

That is what the aussies are famous for. If they go into the match being underdogs and suddenly start playing like we know they are capable of playing they are deadly.

You must now think I back the Aussies to win the world cup, but I don't. I am sure France would do well but the only reason is because its their homecountry and there isnt much competition except for ABs Aussies and the Bokke. Those are the semifinalists. Ireland is a dark horse in this competition. Mark my words. Watch them. We wont talk about England.

I am backing the Bokke. They have depth that only New Zealand is matching. They have the best lockpair in the world with Botha and Matfield. They have the best scrumhalf in Fourie du Preez. Other excellent players worthy to mention are Habana, Burger,  and with a choice of James and Pretoruis they have an experienced flyhalf. Something they didn't have in 1999 or 2003.

They beat Aus and came close to beating New Zealand this year in SA. They then controversially rested their top 30 players for the remaining 2 matches of the Tri-Nations. When their B team took on Australia they were leading them and gave those wallabies a fright. Inexperience caused them to lose that game. In New Zealand at halftime the score was 6-3 for the AB's. Not really great if you consider it was a B team playing against the best team in the world.

Jake White is doing everything possible to give his team the edge and when, not if, it works out, I can only see the All Blacks playing in the same league
