  1. Usually I would say Nadal and Safina.

But I am going to be a little wild this time and say Serena and Andy Roddick. They looked great in their first round matches, and if they keep getting better with each match, they're going to be at their best.

  2. Venus Williams

  3. Rafael Nadal!!

    vamos Rafa ^-^

  4. considering federer's recent form..its hard to predict who will ..nadal's having the year of his career..i'm rooting for roger though....for women..well..its quite open..anyone could win..

  5. Men-- Djokovic/Nadal

    Women--Serena

  6. Andy Roddick.

He missed the Beijing Olympics (and I believe Wimbledon as well-- I forget) because he wanted to be well-rested for the US Open.  He's been saying that he'll win it this year and ya-de-ya.  However, his match against Santoro the other day convinced me that he'll take the title.  His average serve was somewhere around 138 mph.

  7. roddick and davenport!!!

  8. MEN: granted, Nadal is the "king" right now and Federer is always a favorite. I actually Novak could win it this year though! I foresaw him winning the first and last major of the year after he won the Australian Open earlier this year.

Djokovic hasn't had fantastic results as of recent, but he is extremely solid and has a great game for the hard courts in NY. I think he will somewhat quietly move through his draw (which is probably one of the hardest) and I could see him beating Federer, as Fed has had some struggles this year and Nole beat him in Australia, and also beating Nadal in a potential final match up (although Nole has lost to Nadal lately, he has beaten Nadal in the past and I have a feeling Nadal's fantastic run since May will come to a slight halt, plus Nadal might be a bit physically and mentally spent).

WOMEN: I have to go with Serena or maybe Venus. I think this is their tournament. After the Olympics, even though singles didn't go so well, I think both will be hungry to have a great showing at the last major, particularly Serena. They look to be in great form and while Safina and Dementieva have a solid chance, I think they may have slight let downs after the Olympics and I think the Williams sisters are too solid and comfortable at the US Open and probably a bit fresher than the rest of the field.

  9. Juan martin Del porto won 4 straight tennis tournaments all of which were part of us open olypus series so u gotta consider him

  10. Men: the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and I wanna see that smirk off Novak's face

    Women: the Russian Maria Sharapova

  11. djokovic or nadal, since federer seems to be going downhill, no offense, hes a great player, but his time seems to be up ):

  12. NOVAK DJOKOVIC and DINARA SAFINA!!!

  13. MENS:Federer/Djokovic - either one i'll be happy

    WOMEN'S:Davenport/venus

safina has a good chance too

  14. For the men RAFAEL NADAL!!!

    For the women JELENA JANKOVIC!!

  15. Federer!!! the defending champ!!!

  16. Me too!! Djokovic rules!!! :))

  17. Hopefully not Novak! Someone needs to wipe that perpetual smirk off his face. I would still say Federer. Cathyjin94, remember that Roger is only 27; Pete Sampras won his final Open at age 33. It might be Nadal, but I don't think he quite has the game to prevail all the way on the fast courts. If Roddick is fully on top of his game, he might be able to do it; a Federer-Roddick final would be awesome. Juan del Potro is a real dark horse, but he has been playing really well lately.

  18. andy roddick!!!!!!

  19. djokovic for me too!

    if not him then nadal.

  20. Rafa Nadal !!! :)

    Woooooo :)
