  1. Chris Chelios

No one has been a bigger thorn in the NHLPA's side over the past few years.  He could do it much more effectively as the commissioner.

  2. I would say Stevie Yzerman. Captain, hockey operations, commish. h**l, he couldn't do any worse than Bettman, and people love and respect him. Even if you're not a Wing's fan.

  3. Scott Bowman.

Lots of experience in the NHL.  He's a traditionalist and knows the game.  He's been around long enough so I'm sure he knows the business side as well.  I dont think he would ever take the position though.  Realistically Colin Campbell.  I just hope its someone with hockey knowledge/experience.  We dont need another NBA guy ruining our league.

  4. Brian Burke.

Played in college, has worked in the league office, and is a respected GM... understands the game and more importantly, he understands the fans that support it. Harvard educated, he also LOVES the spotlight and would be a terrific frontman for the league.

  5. Don Cherry.

    Suits brotha suits.

  6. What's wrong with Bettman?

haha..but I'd have to agree with Bob Nicholson.

But wouldn't it be fun to have a Bobby Orr or some other old time great to do it.

  7. Barry Melrose   :)

Mullets and hockey go together like chocolate & peanut butter

  8. I personally think pretty much anyone could do a better job than Bettman. If Dallas hadn't just extended his GM contract I think maybe Brett Hull. I'm definately glad he is at the meeting to determine new goalie equipment regulations.

Dan J -  Stevie Y would never leave the Red Wings organization to work for the league.

  9. My grandmother. Why? Canadian born , better looking, can skate and more hockey knowledge. Plus she's taller than 4' 11"

  10. If, by Commissioner, you mean someone not beholden to neither the NHLPA or the Owners, but someone set to be able to act in the best interest of the league (neutral), here's a shortlist I'd be pursuing:

-Bob Nicholson (currently part of Hockey Canada)

    -David Branch (OHL commissioner)

    -Brian Burke

    -Bob Gainey (current Montreal GM)

  11. Bob Nicholson of Hockey Canada.............or a Sutter brother
