Who wrote the ransom note? A person that researched the adults, who may not have left it  personally, but had it delivered by the kidnapper. But that went wrong. Probably the kidnapper was silenced and interred in an unmarked burial, due to the mission failure and loss of ransom. Neither of them were interviewed, never will be traced.
