Who do you truly think is the better athlete? Crosby or OVIE?

Alexander Ovechkin or Sidney Crosby?

I am a HUGE Ovie fan, and the biggest caps fan on the planet, but I honestly believe that Ovechkin is better.

Crsoby is the KING of publicity, so that's why he gets all the attention he does and it drives me INSANE!

So i would like honest opinions please.

If i had to pick one to build a team around i would pick ovechkin becasue his a better athlete. He can take and give a hit and he scores. s****. just scores. AO is a better athlete but i still think crosby is a better hockey player

Definitely Ovechkin.  He is tough , can hit, and score.  Crosby is a whiner and a baby

I would take Crosby.  Until we see one of these guys try to compete in a decathlon or the Ironman, none of us can tell who's the "better athlete".

Anyone who watched the Pens in the playoffs would know that he does it all, including hitting and playing in his own zone. By the way, he gets way more assists than goals, and I'm not convinced that Ovie's not selfish.

Ovie is awesome too, but I am not sure that he has that ability to make his teammates better (like Gretz and Mario) that Crosby is already starting to display.

It's true that Crosby is getting WAY too much pub at this point in his career, though.

I think Crosby is a little more of a hockey player who likes being in all of the commercials better than he does playing hockey. Ovechkin is more skilled but doesn't get any publicity. Everyone thinks that Crosby is gonna be like the next Wayne Gretzky or something but he is FAR from that.

yeah, two truly different athletes. i think that crosby may turn out to be a better played in the long run, but only because he is a canadian. and hear me out on this efore making assumptions. in the nhl, we see that many european/ foreign players tend to lose their "drive" at some point in their careers, whereas north american players can retain this drive. when ovechkin loses his drive, sidney will still be going full tilt, and will prove to be the better hockey player. and as for the publicity thing, been to russia lately, i have never seen more ovechkin ad's in my life... me is much more over publicised that sidney, you just can't see it

Ovechkin is definitely the better pure athlete.  He's much stronger then Crosby (not to say Crosby's weak), and his burning desire to be the best and perfect every area of his game made him go from a -19 to a +28

yeah they're two different players... I'd say Ovechkin is definitely the better athlete.. crosby doesn't have the intensity Ovechkin has... they both have heart, but Crosby 's shown he can lead a team to the finals already.. yet, Ovechkin's not too far behind..

Alexander Ovechkin.

He is a more complete player. He's a strange meld of Power-Forward and Finesse. His style reminds me of Mario Lemieux in how it's a great mix of all the good things a player can embody. He didn't have a good supporting cast like Crosby has, so that's where the difference lies.

It's similar to Gretzky and Lemieux. Gretzky had a h**l of a supporting cast and was healthy for his career. Lemieux didn't have the luxury of either of those, so we never got to see the career that could have matched/surpassed Gretzky's.

Personally I just prefer a goalscorer who can back it up like Ovechkin, rather than whine and hide behind his linemates like other forwards do...

Crosby.
