Who do you try to look good for?

my teacher and i were having a debate on "why women were makeup and nice clothes" he said its cause were trying to "impress" someone and I say its because we feel better about ourselves.. i feel like most guys seem to think this way when infact its not true.. sometimes yes but not all the time I mean wtf? lol!

what do you think?

LADIES, when you wear makeup, dress up etc... are you doing it for you or for the guys??

First myself...To me how I look to myself matters...it helps my self-esteem. i like to look nice and decent and cover up my fat that I do have...

I like to look classy..not like a tramp...

I do it so that I PERSONALLY. dont feel ugly . I want to feel like i'm not hideous and that I can do something nice with myself, not so that some guy thinks i'm a hottie.

I'm not saying I never try to look nice for any guys  but its most def not just for them...

when i put on makeup, fix my hair, or wear nice clothes. i do this to make myself feel better. its good to have confidence, then you can impress whoever. because i think that is the overall goal to impress and feel accepted. so we do it for both i think. :D hope i helped

i do it for myself cos id still put makeup on even if i was going to see friends not just guys. i like to make an effort, everyone likes to look nice!

though i spend a bit longer if im gonna see someone i like ;)

I don't try to look good for anyone.I don't wear make up and I don't wear the clothes that are "in".Instead I cover my hair and body,and hope that people will judge me by my mind and soul and not my appearance.I don't have anything against girls who do though,It's their life,And I am no better then they are.I just wish we could all get along.=(

well for me

i don't wear make up at all

i'm kinda against it (cause it covers your natural beauty)

but for me if i don't have my jewelry on i feel incomplete

my jewelry makes me feel beautiful

& so does my clothes

for the most part i dress up for myself and to give me confidence for the day & as a plus (hopefully) i look attractive to the people around me

(cause i don't want to look bad around people)

For me it's about confidence and stuff

i do it for me. i wear jewlery because its usually given to me by someone special. if i dress up its because i think the clothes are cute.if i wear makeup its because my face looks a little blah. it makes me feel good because i know im taking care of myself.

For me for sure its a confidence thing like for example. if you wear a plain shirt plain jeans plain stitches bag & rebok shoes . you feel like c**p! VS . when you wear a tna tank top & hollister shirt & coach bag & expensive shoes lol like it just BOOSTS your confidence & makes you feel like you could do anything & bring on anything on. So yeah. thats what I think. but it could also be like peer pressure like if you dont look good then you cant hang out w/ "popular people" or like you wanna look AS good as your friends so you spend more time on yourself. :) lol but then again if You liked a guy you COULD spend more time & probalby woulddd but like thats not the reason its because it gives ou more confidence! :) . lol

Because who doesn't love a nice outfit.

Of course it is for other people. Otherwise I'd sleep in something better than boxers and a shirt.
