  1. In this order he should fight:

Williams then Cotto then Clottey then Quintana.

If he fights Williams and wins, it will be as good as winning against Williams and Cintron (Williams KOd Cintron twice).

He should fight Cotto sooner rather than later.  Simply because they are both undefeated.

Clottey- has one very impressive win, would like to see him try to play the role of spoiler again as May looks ahead to a fight with Quintana.

Quintana- on paper looks like a good match-up.  Would be a great fight for May to go out on.

Has he already solidified himself?  As the best at welter, yes- p4p, no.  He needs to be more active against top-tier opposition.  As far as who has beaten-- take a look at his record.  A lot of big names on there.

  2. To solidify himself as pound-for-pound best today, I don't think he has to do anything more really.... but he definitely doesn't need to lose against Oscar De La Hoya, if he wants to keep that status.

Now as for all time great, if he is going to stick around at welterweight and came king of the division, then I think he should fight "real" welterweights. Ricky Hatton is really a junior welterweight who was forced to move up to welterweight, a division in which he had previous issues with against Collazo, to fight Mayweather.

The only true welterweights that Mayweather has beaten are Carlos Baldomir and Zab Judah. Mayweather needs to clean out the division with fights against Margarito, Cotto, Quintana, each having one of the welterweight titles. If he can beat those guys convincingly, then it would be difficult for me to argue against his greatness.

  3. It's too late for that. He ducked Winky, Mosley and Margarito until they are past prime now. He would have to step up and fight Pavlik to show me something.

  4. well he has already fought judah chavez jr de la hoya angel manfready, gatti hatton das not even all man floyd is a daym good fighter he still should fight cotto and margarito the guy is a jerk i wouldent consider him a legend but right now he is pound 4 pound
