I remember that anime! Wasn't it weird how they had Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi in Tokyo, and Tenchi Universe?(personally I perferred Tenchi Muyo) I really don't remember Tenchi choosing anyone to be his one true love. You could try an anime video streaming site and watch the last episode(s) to see for yourself.
