  1. the lumbering behemoth that goes where it wants, when it wants, not caring what it tramples under foot is rightfully so the symbol of the grand old party which has McCain as it's current hopeful and GWB as it's current golden boy. The opposition has a laughing jackass. I'm not sure but I think he's laughing because of the elephant.

    The use of the elephant goes back to the 19th century when someone notices the enormous amount of manure that a male elephant could produce and equated it to a Republican politician.
