Who else appreciates waiters/waitresses?

Question

I appreciate them. They have to deal with so much peopels c**p and they don't even make that much money an hour and depend mainly on tips. They get us our food and ask us if we want refills. They talk to us if we talk to them. They help us with suggestions if we need help ordering. They are kind to us and even those customers that give them a hard time. I'm talking about the majority of waiters/waitresses [since soem people don't always have a good one like I always do] I just thought I'd show them some appreciation and let other people do the same since they get so much sh*t everyday and don't even get paid much. We appreciate you all. =]

I am nice to anyone handling my food. Its basically out of fear they might do something to my meal. Dont bite the hand that feeds

They definitely should be appreciated. Who else waits on us like that.They don't make much besides tips, and if its a slow day not alot of those.  They should make minimum wage plus tips, its usually $2.01 plus tips. So give them a good tip and be nice to them, they have to struggle more than alot of other people do.

I'm a waitress too!

I've always had respect for waitresses and waiters. Even when I wasn't one, I was still piling all of the plates on the table to make it easy for them, and I always $5.00 tips no matter how much my bill is, if I get good service, and all that means is being nice and stuff, everything a server should be : )

I appreciate them, especially since I used to be one!! Hahaha. It's hard to imagine all the stuff that they are dealing with. (especially in a place where everything costs WAY too much and the expectations are so high *cough pappadeaux*) Definitely taught me how to prioritize and plan everything so everyone gets what they want in an orderly manner.

Not to mention, you have to take being yelled at for things that are usually out of your control. Such as, your food being wrong even when you put it in right, it taking too long for your food to come out, the price of everything, how long you had to wait to sit down, how crowded it is in the bar to refill drinks and pick up bar drinks from the bar tender, how nobody else refills the d**n bread oven and steals them all when you just filled it up for a specific table, and just downright mean people and managers.

i think the should have tons of respect!!

My friend is a waitress and she only makes like 2 something an hour becuase she gets tips.

so many people complain and most the time it isnt even the waiter/ waitresses fault. it could be the cooks or someones.

I always make sure to give good tips becuase i know it isnt a really fun job but they have to make a living too.

I mean a waiter/ waitress is kinda like a servant for your nice meal out and they are usually always nice. Why wouldnt you return the favor and be polite to them and give them a good tip since they get paid under minimum wage?

I am a waitress... I'm majoring in waitressing ( aka an actress... a strarving actress) :)  and& I definatlely have more appreciation for waiters/waitresses... I agree... We work hard for little pay & people can be truly ruthless sometimes, especially about the silliest little things... Be kind to the hands that feeds... There is no need to ever be rude to your server, unless they are rude back... Tipping is appreciated, if they do well thank them...You never really know anyones backround... so always be kind...after all...everyone is a burning building, you never know where anyone's coming from...

I really do, I appreciate anybody with a customer service job. Because I know how it is to have a job like that. And you have to treat crappy customers nice.

I am a waitress....and I have been for 4 years whil in school...so i know it isnt me. But, I worked for 13 hrs at Applebees 2 days ago...and went home with 40 dollars..i literally went home and cried!

I do, they're just people trying to make a living like everybody else. It's cab drivers that I don't like.
