Who else believes this is entirely true?

"A single death is a tragedy, are million deaths is a statistic."

It was said by Joseph Stalin, and if you think about it, it's entirely true. When the numbers of deaths are higher, the tragedy seems to lose its affect to each individual person.

  1. too true never really thought about it that way!! its kinda sad if you think about it, its like all the soldiers dying in Iraq are dying for nothing and most of them wont be remembered in about 50 or so years, i mean just think of all the people who died in Granadea and most of my friends still think its a cool name for a granade

  4. What's tragic is that there have been billions of deaths needlessly because of war all through the ages! People suffering agonizing deaths for what, greed, ignorance, mental disorders,and just plain criminal neglect! When it ends this world could very well become a piece of Heaven on Earth!

  6. A single death is more personal is all...even if you don't know them...the media are likely to publish names, ages,addresses, schools etc...which the average human uses to compare with people they know...

    How many people have mentioned their own children going missing when replying to questions relating to Shannon or Maddy...
