would've saved Roger's year. He might win the US Open, but who knows anymore. Is Roger done? He peaked so fast and seems to have just lost it, lost the ability to beat guys like Djokovic and Nadal. And Rog is only 26, I am severely depressed, like my dog just died or something. I know I shouldn't feel sorry for a multi-millionaire, but I feel kinda bad for Rog, anyone else agree?

  1. Not severely as you,but a little depressed►me.

    I love Roger.He is a shy,correct and excellent player ♥!

  2. Roger lost but kicked the **** outta Rafa ! that's how he lost !

  3. people keep saying it's a rivalry, but it seems like he's just getting worse...The "Aura" of sorts that surrounded him is gone.

  4. Guys like Rafa and Novak ?! Erm hello...there amazing tennis players !!!!! Rafa has been breathing down Rogers back for 3/4years now, thats not a fluke. He also leads the head to heads :) 12-6 !!! These guys are just taking their tennis to another level and Federer needs to up his game. Sure he is still the best in the world and will continue to win many other tournaments the question is though can he win the French ? It would be nice to see him complete all the grandslams.

Anyway as for the wimbledon final an amazing encounter by the two best players in the world. Im sooo happy Rafa won and think he deserved it. Roger will be back next year sooo..... fed fans dont be too upset. !

  5. ye i kinda feel bad 4 him. but i really LOVE rafa!!!

hes on his way out i think...nd hes 27 isnt he??

  6. i felt bad when he was crying. but he already had the prime of his career. its over. rafa will be #1 soon. sorry to say it but its true.

  7. LOL Oh honey, cheer up!!! Put a smile on your face. Everything will be fine and Roger will soon again be back to his greatness.

Considering that most people here thought that Nadal was going to steam-rolled Roger in three easy sets in the final, the fact that Roger was able to fight back and send this epic match to a glorious fifth set, saving two championship points in the process, is an amazing feat, especially against a tough opponent such as Nadal.

I honestly do feel your pain. Gosh my good friend has been calling me since the match ended asking me how I am feeling and if everything is okay, because he knew how saddened and disappointed I would have felt if Roger lost. LOL

I don't think this lost means anything close to the end for Roger's reign and dominance. Every great player of the game goes through hurdles like this in the middle of their careers. When they first come out, they win everything and beat everyone, and then in the middle of their career suddenly the losses are more rampant, and the tournament wins become a little tougher to achieve. However like every past great champion, they are able to fight through these moments and go on to dominate again. Take Steffi, Sampras, Agassi, Navratilova and even the Williams sisters for example. They were able to turn their misfortunes around and go on to dominate like they once did.

Don't let this one lost saddened you this much about Roger. He is a great champion and I personally take consolation that he was that great enough to send this match into a fifth set, when it could have easily ended in three. He will figure out a way to beat Nadal eventually, and let's not forget, apart from clay, Roger still holds a winning record over Nadal on all other surfaces. Seems to me like Nadal has more work to do than Roger.

  8. His peak lasted 4 years....that's not exactly short, certainly not in tennis terms.

I'm saddened because he was so close to winning and he really killed himself by not making two easy drop shots that would have given him the break, at one point he would have had 5-1 in the 2nd set to serve, but he blew it.

    That's what saddens me.

  9. Yeah man I feel the same way. I'm sooo sad, well now i'm feeling just a little bit better. When federer lost I just froze, cant describe it...  federer is my favourite athlete.

but i mean, he should win US open, and he can still break other records. just got to try and stay positve! :)

  10. The guys got 12 grand slams, number 1 in the world and you feel sorry for him?!?!?!

  11. Me too. He took it really well though. And Nadal just played a little better. I think the pressure of winning 6 in a row and everyone saying his career is dead was a heavy weight on his shoulders. Next year he can come back under no pressure and win the title for sure. I mean he made Rafa work extra hard today. and Rafa even said that, "roger has 5 and I only have 1". But don't worry, Hardcourt season is approaching...

  12. I am also severely depressed about Roger losing I've been bummed out all day. I wanted so much for him to cap his astounding run of success with a record 6th Wimbledon. He's been an amazing champion and usually has such a command of the court, but today he just couldn't seem to get the shots he needed to pull ahead. I hope he continues on and has more success, but they all fall off their perches at some point.
