Who else can't stand Mike Goldberg's announcing for the UFC?

I really cannot stand him. I'm sure he's a decent human being and all, but really, he is so annoying I can't stand it - does anyone else feel this way? He gets it wrong sometimes with his announcing, and I really just want him to shut up. Who would you pick to replace him, and what is the most annoying/stupidist thing you heard him say?

I'd pick Bas Rutten, he was an excellent announcer in pride, and his knowledge of mma is unprecendented. The most stupidest thing I've heard him say "Matt and his brother Mark used to go out behind the barn and pound each other." lol

I am just answering to argue with k-fighter. When Goldberg said that "Lutter is the Micheal Jordan of Brazilian Ju Jitsu" he was QUOTING Joe Silva the UFC match maker.

But the only commentator I think would be better is Frank Mir, But I think that Goldberg and Rogan are a good team.

The guy isn't meant to be knowledgeable about the sport, but I'd bet he knows a lot more than he lets on. He is the relief to while Joe Rogan is the knowledge. I've listened to several different announcers and found than Goldy is better than most.

I agree with Andy M... sort of. While Goldy does have his bad moments (like when he said Anderson Silva's precision was so...precise) but all in all he does a decent job. Also I dont think we need Goldy to try and tell us how much he knows, thats Joe Rogan's job (and thats not a slam on Rogan, hes the best it's just that Rogan is their knowledge guy). What you're not giving Goldberg credit for is how well he works with others. He's a fantastic set up guy, he asks great questions and help bring about thoughtful discussion. Without him we'd just have guys spouting off facts. Thats why when Florian had to replace Rogan, while it was obvious Florian wasnt quite as good as Rogan, it wasnt a huge deal because Goldberg asked excellent lead in questions and helped generate great and relavant conversation.

If you're looking for an answers guy then get someone else, but if you've already found your answers guy, you need a guy like Goldberg to make it all interesting conversation.

I think he's good, I like Joe better, but Mike does his job. Remember, there is the technical play by play guy and the color guy. They are not supposed to be the same.

In my opinion the UFC has the two greatest announcers in all MMA. Contrary to the previous post I watched a bunch of old pride DVDs found that Bas Ruttens announcing was absolutely terrible (though its possible that hes gotten better since then, they were pretty old dvds).

But I dont have any real problem with Mike Goldberg, watch some Elite XC or KOTC and laugh at the stupid **** spewing all over the place.
