So Yahoo! forced us to move to the new My Yahoo. And I must say, I did not like it a few months ago in the preview, and I sure as heck don't like it now. Who else is with me?

  1. I am with you 100% and I did the same thing. And they are determined to makes us use it.

I suggest flooding the feedback links at the bottom of the help pages. Tell them to give it back or we go someplace else for our home page. I did.

  2. yahoo is simply uncooperative. all you can do is hit them where they live; maybe they'll get the idea.

here is a place where you can get a hosts file replacement and painless installer which will prevent the download and appearance of yahoo (and many others') advertising:

please tell your friends, and help many newbies.

in the end, i honestly hope that yahoo comes to it's senses, but in lieu of that, i suppose that it should be more humane to hasten their consumption by microsoft. . .

  3. I agree, this new format sucks and  now are we forced to use it. It looks like Yahoo is going down the toilet and are trying to drag us with them with all their forced "upgrades" that make their their previous good and useful pages much less useful and more frustraiting. Wonder why their stock price that was around 300 a few years back is now struggeling to stay above 20. Microsoft might of even been an improvement as bad as they are.  Well it looks like I'm one "improvement" or "upgrade" away from switching to Google.... or mabey this one will do it.

What can we do ???   If we ALL SWITCH TO GOOGLE maybe Jerry Yang and the rest of these Yahoo's will realize they should listen to us and respect our opinions and get on the ball ... BUT THEN AGAIN MAYBE ONCE THERE WE WONT WANT TO COME BACK ????

  4. Tried to access my mail this morning from this 'new' Yahoo and was told that I could not access the content. It was a terrible idea to force people to use this new system. And when I finally got into my mail, they added a sneaky advertisment (want to know your credit score) right above my inbox.  I'm switching to gmail.

  5. I agree it stinks.

  6. What can we do about it? Stop logging in to your homepage and watch Yahoo freak out at the sudden dramatical drop-off in usage. That'll tell them something.

A year of providing detailed feedback on the (at the time) 'beta' did nothing. I and I'm sure many others gave them sound reasons why various changes made were a step BACKWARDS, but hey, what did we know?

  7. I am in with you.   I had quick links set up.   They are gone.   All the freaking drop down menus are a PITA.

  8. Gee, after having it rammed down your throat, again and again, you still didn't like it?

    Dislike it?  I hate it.

I would guess my personal my.yahoo page loads about 100 time slower.

I'm going to clean up my stock portfolios, then decide if I will re-enter them in Google or Yahoo.

  9. Totally agree.. I hate the new layout... I hate that its forced on us.
