For the past few weeks I have been the first one to defend Bob Howry but now this is just unexeptable and he has pushed me to the edge

I say either release him or send him down but we cant have him give up leads like this and letting other teams in the game..

Anybody else with me?

  1. The trouble with Howry is that he hasn't been able to get in a rythm.  The Cubs need to put him in when they have a big lead, and let him get his feel for pitching back.  If that doesn't work, then a team (Tampa Bay maybe) would be glad to make a waiver deal with the Cubs.

  2. I like you have defended him but it seems like it is an automatic run or more every time he pitches. I just don't understand how he has been pretty steady since joining the Cubs and now steadily bad. I'm not ready to give up on him yet but he needs to turn it around soon. I think Piniella will give him a few more chances but no more. Too bad he can't get it going since he rarely gets hurt and can pitch often.

  3. My friend is a huge cubs fan, and his nickname for him is "that f*ckin' Howry", so you're not alone in your distaste for him

  4. Wow! I was about to ask this question too?? The Cubs need to just release him.  Almost every game now he throws batting practice.  He doesn't fool anyone with his mid 90 fastball.  I guess his fastball would be called "flat" and has no movement like Marmol's or Zambranos.  The Cubs honestly don't need him anymore since they have Wood, marmol and Mr ND!!

  5. He needs to step it up or pack for Triple A!!!

  6. hey i no what u mean im a huge cubbies fan but i think hes a good pitcher so i wouldnt get rid of himi would send him down to the iowa cubs so heres a star for a good question

  7. Trade him for a Bat Boy!!!!!
