Who else hates the word LOL????

Question

I can't stand it. I hate it. I've tried to like it. I've used it while writing. It just doen't work for me.

How about you? What 'forum' words make you hate the person using them?

yeah i've never been a fan of lol.  the craze of abbreviations has gone too far, some of them aren't even shorter.

i don't even know the meaning of the word lol.but i've seen it a 100 times on yahoo answers and it gets on my nerves even more because i don't know the meaning.what does it actually mean?

I don't really think they are really that evil, they are just words like 'poo' and 'August', but I do find it hilarious when they are spoken - seriously, it's like saying 'CIA' as 'seeya' or 'NCIS' as 'ensis', it reflects poorly on the speaker (unless they are using it as a joke).

I also find it funny how so many people say 'faw-ruhm' as opposed to 'foh-rim', then again I could just be the only person who says 'foh-rim'... :)

I dislike LOL and IMAO. I think their overused and a lazy way to communicate.

i like the word lol and use it a bit too much sometimes. (deleted) the only forum stuff that gets on my last nerve is chat speak.
