i think americans are bizarre for circumsising their boys insistently for no reason at all apart from "its cleaner" and "to look like daddy" ...

being english i obviously have far more experience with men who werent circumsised and dont recall any having health problems or having tonnes of gunk under their f******n lol .

so why is it that american mums dont hesitate to go snipping their sons f******n while european mums never even consider it unless theres a health problem with it ?

  1. Some American doctors got it into their heads to do this unnecessary procedure, and they have convinced many American women it's the best thing.

Personally, I am completely against it. I told my niece that, but I think she got her children circumcised anyway.

Oh, well, at least I tried.

  2. I am!

    its pointless

and the first time i saw my bf

    whos cicumcised

i thought their was something wrong with it, because it looked like part of it was missing.

    leave your kid intact

and as far as religion goes,

    in the bible it says

"circumcision is nothing. ITS WHATS IN YOUR HEART THAT MATTERS"

  3. Me! I also think it's bizarre and unnecessary, not to mention quite cruel. It's sad that a lot of people in the USA believe so many myths about the f******n, and think circumcision is the norm, and really don't understand it. They are finally catching on though, rates are dropping.

    Harriet

  4. pat n- the NHS does circumcisms all the time.

Doing it for religious/ traditional reasons is unneccesary and barbaric.

  5. When it comes to infant or child circumcision, I'm totally opposed to it. Unless there is a REAL medical reason and these are extremelly rare.  Why? Because it is a mutilation (i.e. a permanent body alteration) and medically unnecessary. It should therefore not be imposed on innocent children who have no say in the matter.

As for adult circumcision, as long as it's a conscious, informed decision, I have nothing to say about it, it's none of my business.

For whoever said it's becoming more popular in Germany, seriously, which planet do you live on? I'm not German but happen to live in Germany and gave birth to two sons in Germany. Let me tell you that the procedure is unheard of here.

  6. "Becoming more and more popular in Germany"??? I'm sorry, but I happen to be German, and that is a total lie.

As if women who apparently "don't shave their armpits" would let some quack shave some skin of their sons p***s. Please, don't make me laugh...

    You americans are ridiculous.

  7. Absolutely no reason to get any child circumcised,i am uncircumcised and it's nothing like they say,it doesn't smell,it's not ugly, and i have never had a problem with it in all my life, circumcision is mutilation. In fact,s*x is better when your uncircumcised.

  8. I am against it when they are a baby. If they are an adult, and its their choice, go right ahead. Why cut a chunk of skin out of your baby without his permission.

A lot of people do this because it is a Jewish tradition.

  9. CHILL OUT!!! WTF? u expect ppl to listen to you..and hold their hands up and say "OH sorry...yes you were right all along...i can see the error of my ways....what a dumba** I am"...I dont think so

And by the way, just becasue they are american dosent mean they have to follow the same values as us, we are SEPERATE nations, who share a language and (mostly) the same race...but thats it? why citicize them? they have their own ways. You dont go round criticising muslim countries where they do it to all boys...cause u know they are different and have their own ways....why should America not be allowed to have its own ways?

I am from the UK by the way....but I prefer circumcized for SO many reasons.....it takes longer for them to come...is cleaner.....its nicer to look at, and everythng else.

  10. Because we like to be clean, and it looks bigger circumcized, reduces the risk of infection. DUH

  11. Medically, it is unnecessary.

The young child should be instucted by his mother regarding proper hygiene and some slight manipulation to prevent the skin from becoming too tight.

  12. If you don't know of health problems its because you dont work in the health care field or you dont read questions here. there are about 100 questions a day posted here by uncut guys having problems with their f******n and or smegma, infections etc... Americans are just smarter than other countries and your country has socialized medicine that wont pay for it is why they don't do it.

  13. I am not American, but I am still circumcised, and it is healthier. When I wasn't, I used to get many infections, which stopped once I got the circumcision. So, no, I am not against circumcision, and neither should you, if you knew a bit about the procedure and its advantages. But since you are talking about arrogance, you should find a mirror.

How can anyone be against something they hardly know anything about? I suppose you wouldn't be asking this question if you have spent at least 2 minutes investigating the percentage of urethral infections you can avoid by this simple procedure.

Oh, and one more thing, and this question might be confusing for you, given your clear train of thoughts about what "European Moms" do or avoid.. Haven't you ever wondered whether or not it would be better to avoid having a health problem in the first place? I mean, why wait until there is a problem that requires circumcision when you can avoid them before they happen?

  14. In America the frequency of circumcision is declining all the time.

There are few medical reasons for circumcision. Tradition as in the U.S. is not considered by most doctors to be sufficient reason for a mutilating procedure unless there are medical grounds.

  15. what it boils down to is that every other developed country other then america has universal by the state healthcare, the first thing that happens is everything is factored on a cost/benefit ratio. these countries have calculated that the risks of leaving the population uncircumcised/uncut/unmutilated is much less then the costs and risk in cutting everyone so coverage is dropped, once it is not covered the hospitals are reluctant to do so because then they have to bill the patient for it and convince them to pay out of pocket for it.

so essentially when it is not a profit generating surgery for the hospital it is no longer recommended. $500 for a 10 minute surgery which doesn't need the typical things like pain killers and where if the patient dies from infection you can claim the infection was from birth, easy money

there has also been a big religious push in the past as well

  16. It is healthier, cleaner and looks better! There is no downside, only a lifetime of benefits! I had no hesitation to have our boys (1&3) circumcised as I have been there and done that!

BTW- It is becoming more and more common in Germany! The only reason England doesn't circumcise anymore is your screwed up social health network! It is to cheap to do the right thing!

  17. ME! I hate it! I get a huge feeling of anger inside me when I read peoples answers telling them to get it done!

  18. Me!

  19. In America, a lot of doctors belong to the religions that try to impose this practice on others, and they also make money from it, which is one reason that it became so widespread here, but thankfully, it's on the decline.

Old wive's tales and outright lies were used, and still are parroted by the uninformed about this practice.

Now they're trying to mutilate African men, ostensibly to prevent HIV, which it doesn't obviously, as most American men were mutilated until  a few years ago, and at the height of the epidemic, 80% of American men were mutilated, which didn't prevent anyone from getting the disease.       The rates in the US of HIV were higher than ANY country that didn't habitually mutilate their helpless infants.

There is even some evidence that the f******n has some degree of ability to inhibit viruses, including HIV!     But they'll try to use any excuse to try to promote male genital mutilation.

I'm restoring my f******n, as male genital mutilation destroyed my s*x life.    The nerve damage inflicted on me in infancy was more extensive than usual, making it impossible for me to reach o****m in normal s*x.

Parents who love their children don't mutilate their genitals.

  20. well it's a fact now and it's the "World Health Organisation" who said so : it reduces the risk of infection by the HIV. They have run 3 random studies in South Africa, Ouganda and Kenya, circumcision reduces by 60 % the risk of infection by the HIV for heterosexual men : http://www.who.int/hiv/pub/malecircumcis...

ps : jew and muslims do circumcise their sons too, so don't call american stupids, there's always a reason to this cultural habits and don't get mad at me I'm not american just pointing some facts...

  21. The reason parents do is because they believe the lies the doctors and medical community tell them.  The reason the medical community lies is the same reason many things happen in America that shouldn't happen:They make TONS of money from it.  Not just the procedure itself, but the selling of the f******n for use in women's cosmetics and scientific experiments.  It is all about the money.

  22. Your right! There was a time in medical history that there was a good health reason for it, but today there isn't any. But religious reasons can be considered.

  23. I am completely against it.

  24. I believe that circumcision should only be carried out when it is a medical necessity, I read what the American Pat N wrote and If you ever wanted to see immature illogical comment then read his reply.

The rate of circumcision in the USA had dropped drammatically over the last 15 years so perhaps they are thinking for a change before they act.

You only have to look at the over hyped reaction to anything by Americans to know the majority of what they say is rubbish

  25. I really think that the reason for this practice nowadays is mainly to prevent any kind of differences between others boys and their sons (for example in the showers).

Anyway, circumcision is a technique used for hygiene and penile health, but it is also true that it impacts the structure of the p***s, and has a corresponding impact on penile sensation.

  26. I am an American, but agree that getting an infant circumcised for no good reason is absolutely crazy. "to look like daddy", and "it's cleaner" is no good reason to have your son mutilated. Most of us are just uneducated on the matter...and well a lot of us are just ignorant.

  27. I am certainly against it and resent this mutilation deeply. It's horrible feeling mutilated when you know there is no good reason for it and lots against it.

  28. Americans are getting increasingly weird, it's a culture of looking for things to fix in the human body whether something is wrong with it or not.

I'm against it, if only because it's real purpose is to discourage masturbation.

  29. why are you labeling circumcision as an "American" custom?

It's been done since before biblical times by MANY cultures...

why are Americans taking the blame now?   lol

You Brits are soooo amusing....  (you just can't get over the revolution, can you?)  [wink]

  30. I was never circumsized as a child & felt 'different' from other guys all my life.  Recently had circumcision procedure done & wish I'd had it done years ago.  There is no way to explain the feeling of complete satisfaction I now have.  To each his own, I guess.

  31. Yes, I'm against non-therapeutic circumcision of boys.

Nowadays American parents are catching on to the fact that circumcision is an unnecessary and irreversible procedure and that the f******n is a natural part of the male genitals with many important functions. Since the invention of soap and showers, its real easy to keep clean!

Only about 50% of boys are circumcised here now, compared to 80-90% a few decades ago. I'm sure one day that figure will be brought into line with that of Europe (15%).
