Anyone else remember the Exxon Valdez? So maybe Exxon has gotten out of paying those poor people what they deserve. Thanks to our spectacular Supreme Court. I, for one, am boycotting Exxon. I will be protesting at their gas stations and for me, it will keep growing, until one day I stand outside their offices to let the world know how heartless and capitalistic they truely are. Who's with me???

  1. enjoy your stand.  the original amount of the law suit was excesive and the courts got it right.   to those that lost money the settlement more than pays for their loses.  you make it sound like the heads of exxon woke up that morning and said lets spill millions of gallons of oil in this bay today.   with the cost of the clean up and all of the aggravation people like you have caused them i believe that they got what they deserved and no more.   today that region is more beautiful and the wildlife more plentiful than before the spill so wake up and get over this before it drives you more insane than it already has     mr doodles

  2. No me, I like capitalism.

  3. Just how do you boycott Exxon ?

Buy not buying gasoline at an Exxon station, you are just hurting the local owner of that gas station.

    Not Exxon.

Gasoline, from all gas refineries, are mixed before they are shipped thru the oil company pipelines, thruout th US.

Eachoil company, does not have thier own pipelines,

The pipelines are a joint venture.

They add thr additives to gasoline, after it reachs the destination, where the gasoline trucks, get filled.

All brands, fill up at the same place, they just add different additives to the tanks.

So if you stop buying gas at an Exxon station, And buy it at another station.

Then Exxon is still being paid, since demand at other stations will go up,

And Exxon will be paid, for the gasoline they refined, that was sold at other brand gas stations.

  4. You are using "capitalistic" as an insult?  Dude, you're in the wrong country...

  5. I haven't bought gas at Exxon in years and will continue to boycott them for having the WORST environmental record of all the oil/gas companies. Capitalism has nothing to do with it really. It's the fact that despite their original offer to pay for all of the damages caused by the Exxon Valdez spill, they shrugged off their irresponsibility and accountability and left the people of Alaska hanging out to dry. And worst of all is that the Supreme Court sided with the big faceless Corporation instead of siding with the American people HURT by that Corporation.

  6. Keep in mind that they also operate under at least one other brand name...Valero is Exxon/Mobil gas.  They have recently started the process of selling off all of their retail gas stations, but will still be selling Exxon/Mobil gas (taking the wholesale proceeds, so that their resellers can take the hit on retail prices).

There's no Exxon/Mobil station near where I live, and the Valero station is on the wrong side of town, so as far as I can tell, I don't buy their gas anyway.

It might also be smart to look into where they're selling their non-gasoline products.  If you can, hurt them from all angles of their pocketbook.
