  1. Just looking at it makes me sick.  I'm sure not craving it.

  2. Everytime I am eating food that we eat back home in Hawaii.  Lau Lau and Kalua Pork at L&L here, or when I make Hawaiian dishes - it's not the same without poi.  I get my Hawaiian imported poi here from a Japanese store. The guy who is wondering what it is like, it might remind you of the paste we used to use when we where just going to grade school, but more bettah.

  3. I am!!  The perfect Hawaiian breakfast for my weekends, inspired by my husband, a native Hawaiian served in separate  bowls and eaten family style...a HUGE bowl of fresh poi, kimchi, crispy fried fish, salmon patties ( or lomi lomi salmon), vienna sausage and a bowl of shoyu with home made chile pepper water! Oh no! I just remembered it is friday and I forgot the poi (delivered on friday's)...off to the market.  Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

  4. surriously, i tasted poi and its just like rice, except soupy.

    i get it.

    i eat rice everyday.

and it takes like the rice soup mamas cook.

  5. not me

  6. mmm, me!  with some poke, kim chee tako, kim chee crab, kim chee cucumbers, opihi and some lomi salmon.  i miss eating like this.  now i can only eat poi once in a while and poke once in a great while and everything else about once a year unless we make some of our own using stuff we find in washington.  makes me miss hawaii!

    aloha!

  7. Gross.  I don't get Poi.

  8. I don't know what it tastes like. Is it like the corn meal base used in Mexican cooking? Kind of sweet, kind of crunchy.
