Who else is disappointed by this section?

Question

As a lover of mythology I came here expecting interesting questions and debates, intelligent people with philosophical and open minds. However, all I see are people who ask:

"ZOMG are OUIJA boards LYK 4 realz?"

"Tell me how to become a mermaid. NOW! Do u have spellz?"

"Are u a vampyre? Can u make me one? i'll giv u my email."

Here's a challenge: Find one reasonable, intelligent and interesting question in this section. Besides mine of course =P

P.S. Can somebody PLZ lyk make me into a werewolf coz lyk dey r so cool n i want to like change into it weneva! e-mailz me now!

I agree.  I have seen more questions pretaining to mermaids, spells, ouija boards, and vampires in this section then true questions related to mythology.  You will find relevant questions, but only every once in a blue moon.

I can see where your comming from and I've never asked questions like that before but I still think you are wrong. What makes you think you know what this site is all about..I've read some of the rules and reasons for this site and it's for people with QUESTIONS!!!!!! If you don't like it you can go to another place where they are serious about mythology and folklore...though I think asking to be a mermaid or a vampire is stupid.

I agree. It seems like it is like that in alot of the Yahoo answers questions. I am hoping when summer is over and everyone goes back to school maybe it will not be so bad. But in there defense they probably feel these are important questions to them. I remember being a kid and caring and believing in things I now find quite silly. :)

lol your great, but i do agree thats all you read is the "younger" crowd wanting to be mermaids and vampires. think logically ppl: vampires are called "the damned" for a reason. and when you DO find a spell on how to turn into a mermaid....here is what as known as a mermaid: http://www.nepa.gov.jm/yourenv/biodivers... because this is what the sailors mistook as mermaids lol so good luck with going to the prom looking like that lol. oh and ive read that if you want to be turned into a werewolf you have to drink rainwater out of its footprint (no seriously thats one of the ways i heard lol)

I do agree with you but, some of the younger kids seem to dominate this site and that is one reason these types of questions are posted.  Others, like myself at times, go along with some of the questions and answers to have a little break from other sites.
