Question:

Who else is p'd off at the Ch 7 commentators Ess vs Carl?

During the third quarter, Carlton started to overtake Essendon and McAvaney in particular could not contain himself - not that he does so easily at any time - and he was DROOLING about the Carlton comeback.Fortunately they disappointed him - but commentators are supposed to be objective and analytical.

Who else was thoroughly annoyed by his biased ravings?

  1. well i totally understand where you're coming from. i didn't get to see the game personally, but its happened plenty of times.

just btw, McAvaney is a south aussie, who doesn't have a favourite team. he just wanted to get excited about something, and keep the viewers at home awake i suppose lol

  2. i love bruce

i want to have his baby

  3. BWOOOOOOCY is a k**b but he doesn't support Carlton, so how he could he be biased, he just loves footy,  he wants a close game so he can go off tap every week,  so in answer to your Q,    no i wasn't annoyed, that's just bwooocey.

You did know he is a sth aussie didn't you?,  if any thing he likes the crows a little bit too much if you were going to say he was biased in any way.

  4. At least it wasn't Tim Lane who had the cheek to say Eddie McGuire was bias yes he did get over excited when his beloved Magpies played well,  McAvaney gets excited just commenting football

  5. every since 7 won the rights back i don't watch any football on 7 only 10 and fox i listen to sen 1116 or mmm when my team is playing when 7 won back the rights they wheeled out the wheel chairs again there so 70/80s with there commentary.

  6. in adelaide it wasnt live so i honestly dont care

  7. I wasnt listening

  8. McAvaney's always been a wanker. I particularly hate him in the Olympic commentary team.

  9. Its a constant issue with mcAvaney every week.. Hes soo not objective and is quick to 'put the final nail in the coffin' of his least loved teams and hope that his favs "still have a wiff" wen theyre 80 points down in the last quarter..

Turn the volume down, it helps me..

  10. David Schwartz is the wanker all his does is whine and butt in all the time and thinks he is an expert on everything 2 do with football he has some valid points but he has e many points that's the problem

  11. I completely agree. Steven Quartermain is the same, every time Buddy kicks a goal he goes crazy! It's hard to expect commentators not to support their own teams a little, but McAvaney went way overboard. I don't think he even goes for Carlton?

Eddie was extremely biased, and he copped a lot for it, so I think all other biased commentators should.

In response to one of the answers above me, Nathan Buckley may lack enthusiasm, but at least he isn't biased, you don't see him shouting when Collingwood play! I value his comments and opinions on every team, and I'm not saying this because I'm a Collingwood supporter!

    Great Question!

  12. Bruise is a Guise, there is no doubt about it !   I can't understand WHY 7 doesn't have Sandy Roberts with Dennis Cometti.  It just amazes me really, Roberts and Cometti would be hilarious together, but maybe the 7 bosses have a deal to keep Bruise on air .  Funny, someone mentioned Quarterbrain on 10, but have you ever noticed all the commentators who have "never" played the game,THINK they know it backwards, and worse than that, they get away with it . I would much rather Brian Taylor on 10 than Quarterbrain.  Who is Quaurterbrain really, and where did he "come" from, was it Ringwood ?  Surely he can be returned !

  13. LOL..

I wanted to smack the TV he pissed me off that much..

Denis Commetti has a big mouth (In a good way),but even he cant get 2 words in when Bruce is besides him...

And he also got over excited a few too many times yesterday, and he knew it too..

Yeah he gives me the $hits just like Nathan Buckley's commentary, that bloke lacks enthusiasm...

  14. We all noticed it!!! I must admit, after watching last wks game that I was starting to believe that perhaps I was mistaken about McAvaney's dislike of the Bombers. But ohhh nooo, not after yesterdays effort.

He must have been really gutted that the Bombers won... haha!!!

Incidently, I have noticed that the Bombers last two wins have not been put down to their recent good form, according to some commentators, the Bombers only won because West Coast were "tanking" and Carlton were "appalling"!!!

  15. wow

you shouldve been listening to AW

robert walls was practically in tears when carlton didnt salute

i agree. commentators should be subjective. i think james brayshaw sets a fine example. even when the roos won on the w-e (knocking over 2nd placed hawks) he wasnt going over the top.
