  1. I agree. If we can't be patriotic and have freedom of speech in our own country, if we get penilised for saying something that could be deemed offensive like the phrase "black people" it's just gone too far. It's perfectly acceptable for other cultures and i for one am sick of being walked all over and taken for granted by not only our government, but migrant workers who know how to milk the system. I think the problem is with the labour party and all the do gooders who follow it. Where has the pride to be english gone? Where has the honour of country fled to? Cos' i'm sure we're not migrating as fast as they're (migrants) coming here!

    Sorry for the rant.

  2. I am sick of it. People are too sensitive. It is disgusting.

  3. Me, me! (Hand raised.)

  4. ::Raises Hand:: I agree totally.

  5. Sometimes, but i'd much rather it be like this than be living 100 years ago where it was quite acceptable to gang up and kick black people, g*y people or disabled people to death, and if the police come along, they'd join in! We forget how lucky we are to have our freedom even though it has moments of PC madness

  6. I think the idea that we ARE PC is bollocks. You clearly aren't, I don't see other people who are, and I see nothing but lies about PC. such as false stories in the press about things like the banning of flags (untrue) or the scrapping of nativity plays (they are usually scrapped because of lack of interest rather than to avoid upsetting non-Christians. And nativity plays would not upset muslims, who also revere Jesus!)

  7. Yes!

Its all gonna come to something soon because people will get their common sense back soon enough, and I can't wait to see how funny that will be

  8. Yep, me and my hubby were only going on about it earlier...Not allowed to have black boards at school, but they have white boards!!

  9. Don't get me started!, Political correctness will be the demise of this country if we don't stop it.

  10. Which country?

The US is a trip but at least we didn't do the whole Aussie "Ha, ha, ha" Santa thing.

  11. me, tis a load of old shite

  12. with you on this one

  13. ME!! you cant say anything without anyone gasping and saying "YOU CANT SAY THAT ANYMORE!!"

  14. gone too too far i agree completely. completely pointless also.

channel 5: extraordinary people; blatently just a freak show but because they have not labelled them as freaks its ok to show whatever they want.

and does it really make any difference what term you use to describe something? no of course not, you're not going to change the way people think are you?

dont even get me started about what i'm sick of in this country... we have only found the need to be so pc because of all the diversity we keep welcoming into the fin country. we have the should right to say whatever the heck we want about people within our own country but that has in fact been taken away from us.

    VOTE BNP

its the only reasonable option. not to get other races out but just to regain our personal independance.

  15. right on

  16. I'm sick of people complaining about political correctness. Simply because they don't want to do the right thing.  If people had done the right thing in the first place, there'd be no need for so-called "political correctness!"

People who are against so-called PC also tend to be against basic civil rights and treating people with fairness. They tend to have a "winner take all attitude" and they want to be the ultimate authority in the world. To me THAT is what's pathetic. Wake up white males you are NO LONGER IN CONTROL ... we won the right to question authority more than 40 years ago! No one is saying go away, we're merely saying "share the wealth and BE FAIR!"

Why is that so d**n difficult?

Yeah, yeah, thumbs me down but you KNOW I'm right.

One more thing:  If the USA is really as "PC" as everyone claims, then HOW are stand up comedians like Larry the Cable Guy, Carlos Mencia, Eddie Murphy and others getting away with and getting rich off the vulgar and at times sexist, racist and homophobic humor they come up with? Their type of so-called "humor" is laced with so much anger and hate, it's almost to the point where it borders on schoolyard bullyism...and yet for some reason so many people seem to like it and patronize it...

It seem to me if this nation was really as politically correct as some love to claim, would these famous people be as successful as they are?

  17. must be english i presume.... yes i agree completely

  18. PC has been taken way to far in the US.

  19. Everyone is. Like everything, political correctness can be taken too far.

  20. Me, me, me. We will be scared to talk soon :)

  21. I think that people can take PC to far, but also you should respect peoples feelings. If you aren't going to be PC at least be intelligent about it. Don't just say things to get reactions.

  22. I definitely agree. Some of the things that are supposed to be offencive, only offend the people who have no right being offended by it in the first place. Some of the funniest jokes I have heard, are definitely not p.c. And I have found that they do not actually offend the people who are the butt of those jokes. It has absolutely gone too far now. The people in charge really need to lighten up. Go on, have a beer and tell a dirty joke, you'll feel so much better.
