Ive got a nine month old baby and I'm desperate to get back to work but everything i try or look into i get put back to square one! ive tried telling my partner how i feel and he tries to make a joke out of it, i feel that I'm stuck in the house all the time as i have no money and I'm starting to feel depressed and don't see the point in even getting out of bed most days

  1. Have you considered working at a daycare? Most Daycare facilities offer half priced childcare or even free childcare-so you can work,be out of the house,be with your baby, and childcare would be free/or cheap. Good luck and don't get depressed!

  2. i feel your pain. is there a family member or friend that can babysit a few days so you can at least get a part time job? thats what i did...i serve 4 days while my huband is home oor a friend can babysit. you can also try a babysitting agency instead of pricey daycare. good luck

  3. Where do you live?

If you live in Slidell, Louisiana I can help you. I offer child care at a very very low price. I charge $100 a week. M-F 6am-5pm. I am also available on the weekends. Well I hope you have luck in finding an affordable babysitter at least. Try going to craigslist.com and you will find alot of nannies and babysitters also you can post and add wanting to hire some one to care for your baby. Ummmm... you can also try sittercity.com and care.com those are babysitter/ nanny sites and you can find affordable nannies and post your add that you are searching for a babysitter.

  4. This suggestion might suck- but if you need extra money what about opening an in home daycare and watching other kids?  Then you can stay home with your baby and make some money by watching other kids.  You'll also get interaction with other parents and your child will have some kids to play with.

Have you looked into getting government support for daycare also?

  5. if you live in the uk, phone the tax office. they can help with up to 80 % of your costs. also a childminder rather than a nursery might be a better option. try this website

    http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.as...

  6. i know what you mean. i got tired of looking at the same walls after about 4 weeks. if your income is not so much, try looking into childcare assistance through the state

  7. SAME SITUATION!!!! i can only work 2 days a week ( the 2 days my partner has  off) so not only am i stuck in the house all day, but we neevr get to spend time together as family. i love working and geting out of the house and making money. i cant wait til we find a way to make it work out so i can work more

  8. Yeah I know how you feel. Im going back to work in November for 2 days per week as we need some money but the cost of childcare for 2 days will be £70 per week. so that  will only leave us with £50 per week earnings.

We're better off at the moment with me not working and on statutory maternity pay.

I have a friend who is a single parent she doesnt work and was very lucky enough to get a council house. She is 10x better off financially than we are with 2 people working!
