Who else lives far away from their immediate family?

Question

I used to live in Southern California and near enough all of my family are in So. Cal, USA and New York. I'm in England. Sometimes I feel all alone but I'm not because I have my b/friend here. I call my family and e-mail etc but it's just not the same as seeing them. Who else is in the same situation?

Ive been in the U.S. and my family are in Ireland. Very hard at first but like most things gets easier with time.

I have learned to look forward to the next time I see them and not so much on how much I miss them until then.

i live 20 miles away from my immediate family.i know that's not far but when they rely on public transport to travel it may as well be a 1,000,000 miles

hi ya,i live right down the road from all my immediate family at the moment but at the end of october im moving 220 miles away. i know its not as far as you are from your family but im absolutly dreading it as im so close to my mom,shes like my best friend.then im really close to my younger brother too.dont know how im gonna cope

ME!!!! I moved to Australia for my husband and my entire family is back in Canada and it's so hard not having a good old mom hug once in awhile. I do love my in-laws but it's just not the same. I also talk to my family and friends via e-mail and phone but it's hard finding new friends because they are just not the same kind of people, ya know? you want people like the friends you already have but we'll never find them :(

we are defiantly strong people :) hang in there! I know what you are going through ..I'm not sure how long you've been away from them but it never really gets easier, not for me at least!

i'm brazilian, and i have been living in England for almost 5 years now.

all my family lives in Brazil, but i am so happy here! :) i have everything i want here. i have friends, love and a job.

anyway, i dont miss my country, if i did i would go back. i do call my mum almost everyday. i use tele discount is 2p per min. :)

i live in northern cali (the bay) wit my fam and i've had to move away for some reasons that suck,. but i have been 550 miles away and i see them once a month and it sucks, web cam, emails, texts, phone calls its not the same.. i miss my fam =(

My whole family live in Alberta Canada or at least most of them.  I live in England now too.  My husband is here, so I am here.  How long have you been here?
