I bet The russian federation didnt even think the things will go this far, he has been blackmailing Georgia during the years and never imagined it The georgian government could resist them,

this was planned many years ago, the majority of south ossetian people hold russian passports is because russia has been issuing russian passports to south ossetian people in the last few years with the purpose of drawing south ossetia closer to russia. russia has been planning this military action against Georgia and couldnt want any better excuse to send their troops in the territory of Georgia. its is a fact that this provokation was planned before, just fancy how quickly their tanks started to roll in the territory of Georgia?  the Russian tanks had been stationed along the border. besides Russians were training their military near the Georgians border..

it is obvious that Russia is "protecting " South Ossetia from Georgia, bombing Gori for instance or Georgian ports or even the population in or outside the conflict zones.

I don't think the US needs to get involved, personally.  This is a domestic problem for the Russians and Georgians.  

If, however, Russia starts pushing south towards Iran, that might spell a global disaster.

diplomatically speaking, america will not get involved deep at all.  it's not in their interest at all.  the armed forces have been intrusted with the treasure of wealth of america and they won't waste it on conflicts that dont serve their interests. this is why they dont help in sudan, sierra leone and uganda against their genocides.  if they were gonna do something out of conscience sake it would have to be there

Lol you're crazy dude. I'm pretty sure we'd win if we ever did go to war with them, but I don't want that to happen because A LOT of people would die. Not just soldiers on both sides, but innocent civilians to, and knowing the crazy *** Russians, they'd bring the war to us somehow. They are a very formidable country, and I say we stay out of things.

We had d**n well better not support Georgia. They started it by invading South Osettia and killing Russian citizens. Also:

I would daresay it is more up to the European countries to act, especially the NATO nations.  Barring that, I would doubt the USA is going to get too involved.  The Russians will have to attempt to take Tblisi, and it is probably too late in the year for them to try, as winter comes early in that part of the world.
