  2. Well yeah...You can only get better after being in last place.  Stamkos, Malone, Prospal, Recchi, and Roberts are definitely going to help.  They still need a GOALIE though.

    Barry Melrose? 79-101-29 with Gretzky.... laughable of a record when you see who was on  the 2 teams he didnt make the playoffs with.... Check out the LA KINGS 93-94 Roster and the 94-95 Roster (when you see the names who played on those 2 teams your jaw will drop).... talent out the wazoo! No playoffs either year!

    No Veteran experience whatsoever on the Blue-line! Notta, Noneya, No one.. and hoping for a resurgent Matt Carle (who wasnt all that to begin with!).. LOL.. shaky move at best!

    Kolzig? Look at the difference in record the CAPS had when Huet took over..... if you cant figure out why WASH starting winning then you really need to see a Doctor!

  7. They'll problably fall one of two ways- Rangers or Pittsburgh coming out of  the lockout. Rangers would be preaseason pick to win everything after signing most everybody, but falling way short and having trouble scoring after loading up on forwards, but pulling it together and making a half decent run.

    05-06 Pittsburgh might be more apt. Sign a bunch of stars to prepare to play with your new young rookie, keep an old vet at the same position who is one of the game's greats, and still do awful.

    As a hurricanes fan, I'm rooting for the latter. As a member of this board who has to put up with TBL- I still root for the same thing? Actually no, just kidding you TBL. I want them to do a lot better this season, better then the Caps but worse then the Canes.

  9. They may go from 30th to 28th, but that's about it...You can't buy success (ask the pre-lockout Leafs and Rangers) - you need some kind of chemistry...Throwing good money after bad on FA's from across the map is not going to cut it...Mark my words, the TB Lightning will STINK this season...

    Way better?  No.  You don't need a crystal ball to know that having no defense won't get you far, no matter how many goals you score.
