Like others have said, it would be unfair if it was true but its not.  There are actually 14 other teams with a higher salaries than the Wings.

They are not over the cap.

But they are up 3 games to 1. Is that what you mean?

Check their roster- Ozzie makes less than a million  per year. Only four or five players have high salaries, like Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Lidstrom. The rest are pretty much on role player or rookie contracts. The Wings have low draft picks on their roster. High priced talent like Hull, Shanahan and Schneider were allowed to become UFAs as their contracts expired.

I Love Gonchar is correct: Draper was picked up for 1 dollar in the waiver draft.
