I mean, come on, I'm British, now, don't get me wrong, I'm proud to have the RAF flying over my home skies defending my livelyhood, but when you think about it, the Americans have the better machines, right?

Is it possible if we can have some of your technology please?

  1. I'm sorry but Harrier Jump jets are the best ever, completely British.

You don't want to rely on american planes, they train terrorists to use them, probe drunk hill billies with the stealth ones under the guise of U.F.O's and shoot down the odd friendly one just because they feel like it.

  2. We have the eurofighter tycoon dont we?

  3. They may have some nice machines but their pilots aren't very good at aiming.

    Friendly fire anyone?

  4. Ah, the TSR2 was the plane that would have put the UK in the lead, but the Labour Government scrapped it. The Typhoon will be as good as anything the Americans have in the air at the moment. There is a movement in America to update the air fleet as their models are starting to show their age. The F35 should do the trick.

  5. you guys have the eurofighter we have the f-22 they are both very good planes i think the eurofighter looks more  better then the f22 cause its got the conards on the nose and can fly backwards with them in a loop

  6. well for my opinion,

Yes the Americans have better aircraft coz they have an F-22 Raptor but don't be sad maybe one day the RAF May develop a

strong aircraft, strong, fast and stealthy enough to compete with the F-22 Raptor

  7. No way dude, we as got the best man!

Best Airforce, Best Navy, and the best Army in the world, it has to be coz we train everyone else's ****dy armies!

  8. Totally agree. Awesome machines.  Bring back our lightning!

  9. can you tell me where you live so i can slap you back to sense

  10. They have the most expensive aircraft in their air force, it does not necesarily mean they have the best aircraft. Our lower tech aircraft are just as effective & in some cases more so! Our Lightning interceptor could run rings around most American fighter jets before it was retired. The Eurofighter Typhoon. is also a lot better than any equivelent American aircraft and it costs a lot less. Sure the Americans have stealth but they are practically the only country who can afford it as it is far too expensive for any other nation. The Nimrod, it's a very old aircraft but it is far more effective at sub hunting than the Yank P3 Orion also.

In conclusion our aircraft are just so much better!!!

  11. No.  The Eurofighter Typhoon has the most up to date technology.

A more pertinent question might be, "who has the best aircrews?".  Answer: the ones with least "friendly fire" incidents.

  12. Not necessarily so...It is not the machine, but how it is used...In the hands of a skilled operator, an airplane of lesser capability can match an airplane of greater capability in the hands of a pilot with less training and/or experience.

I saw a mock dogfight in New Zealand several years ago...Their little side-by-side Strikemaster trainers (similar to our T-37) against our big, bad F-4Ds...The Kiwis held their own quite nicely...Pilot skill level was about equal, we had the advantage in aircraft power and performance, but the Kiwis used their vehicles within its performance envelope and didn't try to go against the Spook's strengths.

So, it is not the technology, it's how it is used.

    All the best.

  13. All the US Air Force is good at is shooting their own allies.  So that means you Brit!

  14. I don't think it is necessarily the technology but the way it is used and the training of the people using it.

For example, the F-15 has a kill-loss ratio of 104:0.  But that can't be attributed to the entirely to the F-15 itself.  Many of the enemy aircraft were spotted first by E-2Cs or E-3 AWACS as they were taking off and thus gave the the F-15 pilot a great advantage that could have been exploited in a much lesser aircraft (like an F-5).  Also the enemy air forces (Syria, Iraq, etc) had poor training and morale; it would be interesting to see the scenario against a western air force (like the UK, the Israelis, the French, etc)

As far as the F-22 goes, it is a great plane.  But even though they are a superior aircraft, the US isn't going to have enough.  They are going to replace the current 700 F-15s with less than 200 F-22s.

I would say the Eurofighter Typhoon would give an F-22 driver a very hard time, even if he winds up loosing in the end.
