Who else thought they were going to be the "cool mom" until they had children ....lol...or should i say teens?

i was a little worried when my girls hit the p*****n years that i would lose the closeness i had with them but i didnt...i listened to their kind of music, did things with them that they enjoyed, got along with their friends and became the "cool mom"..

so now that theyre grown we have very close relationships...

im both their friend and their mother...

I always thought of being a cool mom but now seeing my nephews and niece growing up. I have changed my mind, I would not want my children acting the way I did and doing the things I did. I will let them do things but I will pay attention to where they are going and what they will be doing.

anyone who thought they were going to be the cool mom was deluded and stupid and probably didn't have any  insight or foresight....sorry!

I was a 'cool ' mom to my son and his friends ( I know this because they told me so ) but I also knew what he and his friends were doing at all times.  and I'm now the  A grandparent > not the B grandparent ( they are boring ) BUT I know what your talking about,,, my friends wanted to be cool and hip for their kids yet they were driven nuts>>>

LOL,,,,,my 3 grandkids are here now screaming and running around and I'm still cool >> wait ......................... had to make the kids settle down > lol,,maybe NOT so cool ????
