  1. Criminal justice jobs are out there.  You are not looking hard enough.

  2. Welcome to the club, honey :)

I have my BS in wildlife biology. I use my degree in the summer working outdoors, but I can't find anything permanent right now so I also work retail. yuck.

be patient, an opportunity will present itself to you eventually :)

  3. It normally begins that way.  The truth is more undergrads will begin working in a job that has nothing to do with thier career.  Sometimes work is also based on your location and what types of jobs are the biggest money makers in that area.  The best advice i could give (being a graduate from school darn near 7 years ago and still going through the same stuff), take up some quick end job where you can make fast cash, but, also being passionate about criminal justice and law, see if you can intern at your local government office downtown or a program where you actively work for the city or your local community.  Build up your resume and continue to look for work thats based on your interest and needs.  also go to active websites like www.criagslist.org, or any .gov or .edu sites that deal with law and government.  Best of luck and always pray.

  4. I also just graduated with my BA in Criminal Justice and you're right. Right now I'm working in an Engineering office. Many of the jobs require only 2 years education, but 2 years experience. Check out state, county and jobs. I live in California and there are plenty of State entery level positions open, however, it takes forever to go through the process and they favor those already employed by the agency.

You should be able to apply for Probation Officer positions, Juvenile Hall officer, look at county job openings.

It does suck, just apply for what you can and be patient. Good luck!
