I think it was rediculous i turned all my lights on because i hate people who think that turning lights off is going to help "save" the earth. Energy is never gained nor lossed, its always constant. People need to learn that what they are doing is really hurting the earth more then helping it. I mean i heard that because of everyone wanting to see their city dark they DROVE their cars to see it all which caused more emissions then having your lights on. Also this corn shpeal with ethonol is redic too, i mean come on our prices on livestock are going up with other domestic farm animals. Sheesh people, whats wrong with you?

  1. at least, they still made a little part to help the environment. the numbers of energy saved when many people turned lights off were tremendous. always remember that every energy saved is a big help to the environment so you can't say that what we did is nothing. that event means a lot. i think you are talking about a different kind of energy, you are not talking about the energy that were saved during the earth hour.

    always think logically.

    EDIT

i agree with pgarox. it also raises awareness to people

  2. Oh dang. I thought I was just supposed to turnoff the tv. Next year I'll be more ready.

  3. I loved it.

I even had a little candle light dinner by myself :]

    Amazing. :]

  4. It was ok. We really need to send a message to all those companies that leave lights on all night...bigtime energy wasters!!!

  5. it was hilarious. the ones not driving around were BURNING CANDLES !  turn on a light & light a candle see which one puts out the most smoke & CO2 .LMAO!

  6. Although I did not participate in the Earth Hour craze, I believe it's intention was not necessarily to "save the Earth," but more to raise the overall awareness level.

In other words, there is still, apparently, a very relaxed attitude, by most peoples of the world, regarding environmental concerns.  It is thought that, by bombarding people with these kinds of messages, it might heighten their awareness and concern, compelling them to take more aggressive actions toward "cleaning up" the environment.

Now, mind you, I am not one who thinks this way, I am merely explaining the intentions.

  7. i found it a bit boring because I'm scared of the dark and I need the light on to see where I'm going! so yeah I just broke the earth hour promise to my family, they all enjoyed it but I didn't

  8. I turned off all the lights & enjoyed a romantic candlelit dinner. I think you need to educate yourself about how energy is produced, and the by-products of burning coal.

  9. I enjoyed it but only because I was at my friends birthday party playing Rock Band and pigging out on cake.

  10. yes my friend your concerns are valid it is a shame that the greed of companies on earth for money can not let technology of energy sources be used instead of extracting gases and minerals of this planet. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IS AN HOUR OF COMBINED THOUGHT/S TOWARDS USING "ALTERNATIVE POWER" FOR THE NEAR FUTURE. THEN THE COMPANIES ETC. MAY LOOK AHEAD INSTEAD OF AT THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS.
